Actually fine with this change on 2 conditions:
1. It's actually hidden this time without easy to get black market stats.
2. Riot spends a lot more effort disabling or announcing bugged augments so ppl don't get tricked into taking them.
1. Putting into words why I, and maybe some of those reading this, hate encounters: I have criticized the mechanics of sets 7, 8, and 9 for encouraging inflexible gameplay because they reward hard-forcing specific comps and disincentivize pivoting. Encounters are NOT like that.
@AlexHormozi I agree with this, but just to steel man the argument / go devil's advocate - what about if someone's physical and/or mental condition makes them unable to continue working after the age of 70?
@ramit It feels hard to make a decision when one side is something meaningful, but you can't put a number on it, and the other side is a very weighty and scary financial sacrifice. Thoughts or advice?
@ramit Ramit, would love your thoughts on trying to compare a quantifiable issue (i.e. tuition cost, debt) with a non-quantifiable issue. For example, I'm 40 years old, and I feel drawn to doing this other thing in my life, but the grad program is 100k and I worry that'll cripple me.
@SoulHuntah_@Mortdog completely agree. I was master the last two sets so I'm not super high or super low rank, but I honestly just don't get the appeal of the big RNG portals from a competitive POV.
@xovienofficial @Dishsoaptft I enjoy the "planning" part of TFT more than I do the "pivoting." I get that both are important, but idk maybe they should just give you a magnetic remover every time you buy a new headliner.
@Dishsoaptft Agreed. For what it is, I think it's a pretty nicely constructed set and current patch feels more balanced than most of set 9 ever did, nothing too egregious - I just personally dislike the headliner mechanic, so it's not a very fun set for me.
Been a lot of yappin about the game recently, and I didn't want to be left out.
Overall I think the game is in an acceptable state.
Outside of balance, the things I have issues with (bag sizes, accelerated leveling, power of streaks/pve drops).
Are basically all side effects of headliners/chosen mechanic.
TBH I don't think they can do much, Maybe bag size increases but I can actually see how that can lead to 4 cost 3 star degeneracy.
Think i'm just not a fan of the headliner/chosen mechanic but good thing sets are only 4 months long now COPIUM.
For me augment TFT is still the most fun game out there Just personally hope they don't revisit this mechanic for future sets.
@thedivelol not sure if I'm too late for question but this one is burning on my mind, how would you compare this finals preview to last year. DK ended up upsetting; were they as much of an underdog as Weibo are now? What's the same or different?
@davidasinclair@hean_loong@elonmusk@waitbutwhy@lexfridman For someone like me who doesn't have a gallbladder, am I just out of luck? Or any advice you have for me and others in this situation would be so very much appreciated (might merit a video on this topic; apologies if you already have one and I haven't seen it).
The finals were so amazing, but also want to acknowledge @Caedrel@esports_kobe@CaptainFlowers who absolutely smurfed it with casting. Sure, you were cooking with the best food, but you guys did an awesome job. Thank you for for your part in the best world's finals ever.
@Mortdog Honestly, in a game as complex as tft, things like this are bound to happen - very happy you and your team notice it and work to make the user experience as good as possible until the more thorough fix can be made. Hyped for the set to launch!
@WhiteGiantRPG Can you talk about what kind of skills the blackbelt will have, and how the banshay's weapon-based skills will be different from the knight/berserker?
