Public Safety, Utilities, Manufacturing and Field Service focus at work, plus beach days, waiting for next track day, and watching my wife's dogs win at shows.
And every one of those workers (pilots, police, maritime, construction, EMT and rescue divers) are probably union. Typically in these organizations, the union ensures that there is time and resources for training.
Again, a moment to pause & appreciate the cool professionalism of those in & around the Key Bridge at 1:24 am Tuesday.
Ship’s pilot radios in that ship has lost steerage & will hit bridge.
Someone (maritime control?) transmits urgent alert to Maryland/Balt police dispatch…

@engineers_feed During the Apollo program, all of their manned launches and many of their test launches were pre- announced.
Think about it. Every failure would be out there in public.
No organization does this! But NASA did, to their everlasting credit.
@DrivingReal I drive my car on purpose-built tracks with orgs dedicated to teaching skills and emphasizing safety.
The more skill/speed I attain on track coincides with me driving slower on public roads. Not because I got it out of my system, but because I've learned it is too dangerous.
#eaglesvsdolphins During Natl Anthem an eagle was released from the upper deck and flew around the stadium. Awesome.
I told #Dolphins fans near me that Miami could never put on that kind of show. If they threw their mascot from the upper deck, it would just go splat.
#Eagles
@CBSPhiladelphia Maybe first time full during a Phillies game, but the lots were all full before kickoff for the 2021 Eagles home opener, and they were full hours before Eagles Championship Game in January. I was there, the lots were closed.
@DrivingReal At least some of these should be implemented. The huge, blunt front ends on many SUVs seems to be a major contributor to pedestrian deaths.
One of my cars has Emergency Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control. They work well to slow or stop the vehicle in a straight line.
@DrivingReal I've been to those TX rest stops w/trucks parked on entry road, wide enough for trucks on L or R. Lane lines should be painted showing center, so incoming drivers can see roadway, and trucks can park on the sides. Reflective barriers on L and R can warn cars to drive down middle.
@DrivingReal Yes. The driver will have more situational awareness; when to shift becomes more than speed and revs (like a computer does for an automatic transmission) but also seeing the times when you should hold a gear longer, or downshift sooner in prep for changing lanes, etc.
@WallStreetSilv Car dealership keeps all the sales tax saved when trading in a car. How they do it? If the car has a value of $12000, they will offer $11200 Knowing that if you sold it yourself, you'd have to pay $800 more in tax.
@JoePompliano Football: breaking the plane of the end zone is a TD seems silly with players jumping out of bounds at the 3 yard line and still scoring with an out-stretched hand. Make it like a pass, got to get feet in.
@engineers_feed There is a lot of communication happening. You can sense when a car is thinking about changing lanes. Another example, when driving past someone walking or biking in the road, move over a little to communicate that you see them.
@JoJoFromJerz My wife had it so severe that surgery to break adhesions was planned, 6 weeks out. She did a unique form of PT. The morning of the surgery, the doc checked her range of motion & said, “It’s resolved!" No surgery. Search for “Alexander Technique”, there are practitioners in N NJ.
Yo @LegalEagle can you help me? I'd like to bring forth a lawsuit to every establishment that puts handles on doors that cannot be pulled open.
I have looked stupid for the last time i say 😤
