I do not want to go to thousands of community meetings about how to improve transit and cycling.
I want transit and cycling to just get better thanks to the people I voted for.
I'm back to law school and will once again be cutting back on twitter. Almost hope it's gone by the end of the semester. Hopefully the hurricane isn't too bad . . .
CAHSR is releasing a Request for Qualification to find contractors capable of delivering high speed trains.
Target 2028 to begin testing, 2030 for service.
@SwannMarcus89 I miss the days when high culture was reactionary. Elite culture should support the elites and it drives everyone insane when it doesn't.
Housing is a human right.
In the State Assembly, I will fight for more housing opportunities for everyone, strive to combat exclusionary zoning repeal laws, and make it easier to build new homes.
Together, we can tackle the housing crisis once and for all.
#HousingCrisis
Matt Yglesias is right about @GavinNewsom, who should work on fixing California instead of culture warring with Ron Desantis, another loser who will never be president
Tropical storm Kathleen is why we have the trolley. It damaged the freight lines so badly Southern Pacific sold it for use as light rail rather than repair it
Kathleen (11 on the map) in Sept. 1976 didn't have as big of an impact on San Diego as Doreen in 1977, but it slammed much of So Cal. It hit the So Cal desert as a tropical storm. It had 57 mph sustained winds, dropped a foot of rain in spots, damaged 100s of homes & killed 12.
This is your recurring reminder that a group of self-styled “left wing” activists are fighting tooth and nail to block the construction of student and homeless housing by UC Berkeley
@Tony_Kranz @riley_gdr @SenBlakespear I'm sure she's as fine but making the surfliner a good train needs rail knowledge and initiative which board members whose main jobs are being local politicians don't have.
Funding is lacking because the board correctly assesses securing funding is not important to their voters
@SenBlakespear is right. We need a state-level California Railway Commission to manage Surfliner, Capitol Cooridor, San Joaquins, et al.
Local control does not make sense for 351 mile intercity rail lines!
