🌍 Concluded my official visit to the United States of America, Washington, D.C. Grateful for the opportunity to meet the Maldivian community, warm hospitality and constructive engagements with the U.S. officials and representatives of international financial institutions.

My visit to Washington DC was a response to exchange visit and continue dialogue as several delegations from Washington DC visited the Maldives in recent months . Our discussions reaffirmed the enduring friendship between the Maldives and the United States and explored new avenues to strengthen bilateral relations, cooperation in areas of mutual interest on global issues, promotion of tourism, trade and investments.

I look forward to building on these engagements and further advancing our shared priorities.

🌍It was a great honour and pleasure to have an audience with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan @ABZayed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, on the sidelines of #UNGA81HLW.

I conveyed @MMuizzu and @presidencymv government 's heartfelt appreciation for the UAE’s generous assistance and valuable contributions to the development of the Maldives.

We discussed further strengthening our longstanding brotherly relations, expanding economic and development cooperation through promotion of trade, investment, tourism, labour, agriculture and renewable energy projects .

Highlighted the high level participation and importance Maldives' attaches to the 2026 UN Water Conference hosted by UAE. With the desire to advance our shared priorities we also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and reaffirmed our commitment to continued close engagement in regional and multilateral forums.

🌍Ending threats to seafarers and securing safe commercial shipping and resilient supply chains are critical to ensuring that no country is disproportionately affected by global trade disruptions.

Today, the #Maldives joined the Joint Stakeout on Maritime Security in relation to freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb, initiated by the Kingdom of Bahrain at the #UNSC stakeout area.

The Maldives stands in solidarity with GCC Member States and Jordan in safeguarding regional security and freedom of navigation under UNCLOS.

🌍For #Maldives, climate change is about sovereignty.

Rising seas may alter our shores. But they will not erase our statehood, rights, maritime entitlements, and national agency.

We will adapt, innovate and build. But resilience requires climate finance to reach #SIDS at the scale, speed, and on the terms required.

"Implementation must be the measure of commitment."

#COP31 must deliver. The 2030 Agenda must move faster. ABAS must turn into measurable progress.

That future depends on a healthy, sustainably managed ocean. The first #BBNJ COP must deliver from day one.

Today, I feel incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to stand before the 81st United Nations General Assembly and speak on behalf of the Maldives. To stand on one of the world’s most important platforms and speak for my country is an honour I will carry with me.

But beyond the honour, I feel the weight of that responsibility. For SIDS like the Maldives, platforms like the UN are vital. They give every State a voice, large or small. With that voice comes a responsibility to speak for our people, to make ourselves heard, and to make our place at the table count.

It was a pleasure to mark this important occasion with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, Lê Hoài Trung, on the sidelines of the #UNGA81HLW.

I am confident that this MoU will pave the way for closer cooperation and engagement between our two countries, and further strengthen the bonds of friendship between our peoples.

We reflected on over five decades of close and enduring relations between the #Maldives and #Japan, built on mutual trust, shared values and strong cooperation across numerous sectors.

We discussed the regional instability, challenges faced by the international community and agreed to work closely to strengthen our engagement on issues of mutual benefit .

Expressed our hope to celebrate the next year’s 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Maldives with exchange of visits. Thanked the government of Japan for the longstanding partnership and agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations.
