whoever said “you MUST BY ALL MEANS develop a strong opinion of yourself so you don't end up internalizing the beliefs others have of you” changed my life.
The number of people who want you to give up so they can live comfortably in their mediocrity is alarming. Your life is a proof that they are getting it wrong. They also want you to give up so they can make you an agenda point in their gossip cohort.
If you like, give up.
NOBODY watches you harder than jealous-spirited people. They’re intimidated by you, then they try to humble you, throw shade at you, judge you, and compete with you. Still, they act like you’re the one in competition.
Most severe workplace problems are caused by women
Men can dislike each other and get the job done
When women dislike people, they burn the place to the ground
You really need to learn to be stingy if you intend to always have money with you.
Some opportunities will come your way, and they must not meet you empty-handed.
The overly needy people around you will be fine.
You’re different, fam. You’ve probably known that your whole fucking life
You never really fit in at school. Never fully fit into workplaces. Even when you tried to just get on with shit, there was always this weird energy around you, like people were secretly competing with you when you weren’t even playing the same fucking game.
Bosses acting funny. Friends switching up. Family members moving weird. Partners low-key comparing themselves to you. And half the time you’re just sat there like… bro, I’m literally minding my own business
Now this shit right here…
Not everybody is gonna understand your energy.
Not everybody is gonna resonate with you.
And some people will see something in you that THEY haven’t worked on in themselves yet, and instead of being inspired by it, they get uncomfortable.
That’s not your job to fix.
Your job is to keep healing. Keep growing. Keep dropping the shit that no longer serves you. Keep becoming more of who you actually are & too Ascend
Because you’ve got something to give this world
A voice. A gift. A message. A light
And the more you stop shrinking yourself to make other people comfortable, the stronger that shit gets.
If you like don’t hold yourself and your immediate family well.
I remember when everything was still rosy for my dad and man had plenty money, our house was always full every Sundays. Friends, club members and all.
Who knocks on his gate now??
Maybe when I go home to see him
i hate poverty so much. It turns you into a people pleaser. You avoid conflict because you can't afford to lose access, help, opportunities. It makes you overexplain. You feel the need to justify your existence, choices, or mistakes, it shuts you up.
People don't care about your success stories. They are interested in your failure, so that they can gossip, laugh, mock and enjoy your failure.
Your success angers them.
There is one mistake many people make when their finances improve slightly: they immediately start upgrading their lifestyle. Suddenly, they discover all the things they apparently need to buy, things they somehow survived without when they were broke. They want the latest phone, suddenly decide their current apartment is beneath their new standard, and move into a house with an outrageous rent, all because they have started making more money.
When your finances improve, don’t improve your lifestyle at the same rate. Live significantly below your means and gradually raise your standard of living as your income becomes more stable and your wealth grows. You can afford a more expensive apartment and still stay where you are. You can afford the latest phone and still use the one you have. Every naira you refuse to spend today gives you more financial freedom tomorrow. Wealth is not created by how much money passes through your hands. It is created by how much of it you can keep, grow and deploy intelligently.
Don’t let a sudden increase in income convince you that you have permanently become rich. A good month, a new job, a business breakthrough or an unexpected payment can make you feel wealthier than you actually are. This is how people touch a substantial amount of money and, a few months later, find themselves back at square one.
Learn delayed gratification. Just because you can afford something doesn’t mean you should buy it. If it isn’t a basic need, you can wait. Let your money sit. Let it compound. Give yourself time to know whether your new income is permanent or temporary. The goal isn’t to look rich the moment you start making money. The goal is to become rich enough that you no longer have to worry about money.
Unfortunately there will be no evidence that you really tried your best if you don't make it. The sleepless nights. The losses. The doubts. All will mean nothing if you don't win. That's why you have to make it.
During your downfall. Pay close attention to people’s behavior. Some will support you. Some will disappear. Some will kick you while you’re down. When you rise again, remember who was who. Never forget the people who showed you their true character.
You already have an edge in the financial markets if you simply have the patience to just fucking read, man. That’s the hack. It’s amazing how much money people are willing to put into things they can’t be bothered to spend a few hours understanding. In markets, intellectual curiosity is an edge because surprisingly few people are willing to do the work.
If you are focused on your own life, you will meet many people who "dislike you for no reason," but it's actually because people who don't have the courage to try to change their lives tend to resent the people who are unapologetically doing it year after year.
When it comes to the game of life, never underestimate anyone. The weak can be pretending, the foolish can be acting. A good strategist observe with acute intensity far beyond visible signals. Never relax your guard. Everyday is warfare. You really can’t escape reality when you obviously deal with humans everyday.
I started investing in mutual funds in 2018. After one full year of investing, my total balance was approximately 412,000 naira. I had saved 360,000 naira in total and earned 52,000 naira from interest.
In 2019, my monthly interest was just 6,000 naira. It felt laughably small. I genuinely wanted to withdraw everything and move on. But I could survive without it so I left it alone and kept going.
Today, my monthly interest alone is over 220,000 naira.
That is more than what 90% of Nigerians earn as a full salary. Some civil servants who started working in 2018, the same year I started investing, still do not earn up to 220,000 naira monthly after 8 years of service.
But here is the painful truth. If they had started investing when I did, their monthly interest by now would have been more than twice their current salary. And they would have had the option to quit that job entirely. That is the power of consistency and compounding over time.
It looks small at the beginning. Embarrassingly small. But with time, the magic is genuinely mind blowing.
Do not sit on the fence. Start now. Even 5,000 or 10,000 naira monthly is enough to begin. It is not too small. Just start and thank yourself later.
Above all, love God.
