PSA: We know you *love* to see the big families with the converts and all the small children bring up the gifts. But we *do not*. Please. Please just stop asking us.
@ChurchIsForThem My husband, being a convert, was still pretty nervous about routine mass participation, including ‘bringing up the gifts’ for our small parish. It seemed a feat to quietly vacate all 8 of us from our pew and get to the back to gather the gifts and process up, /1
A gentle push up on those things will apparently result in such a calamity. A quick replacement of the font, now quite empty, and we sheepishly returned to our seats (only to get up a few short minutes later to try again – mostly successfully this time). /5
The best we could manage was a quick roll of the stroller we mercifully had in front of him, (mostly) blocking the scene. I don’t even think anyone saw. Hopefully.
@ChurchIsForThem One beautiful Corpus Christi Sunday, we had joined the procession around town. It was our first ever, and I was excited to be a part of it, despite trying to keep track of 6 children who made it their mission to spread themselves as far apart as possible /1
Prayers had just begun when I glanced back to see said toddler, pants around his ankles, making the one small swath of grass available his personal urinal. Well, one simply does not interrupt that whole thing. /3
@smittynumber454 @thomanderson99 @RemanShinzon No hate, but no lies, either. Truth. I won’t tell you what you want to hear, just because it makes you feel better. Natural Law. Love tells the truth.
@thomanderson99 @RemanShinzon You are NOT a Catholic. At the very least, one who is in very poor standing and has separated himself from the Church and the Lord.
