Meet Shaun Rickard - Candidate running for election to become the next Mayor of Pickering on October 26th, 2026 - Why I'm running for Mayor.
For nearly three decades, I have proudly called Pickering home. For the past 29 years, this city has been where I have built my business, established deep roots in the community, and developed a profound appreciation for everything that makes Pickering such a special place to live.
As a passionate outdoorsman, I have spent countless hours enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds us. Living just a stone's throw from Lake Ontario and Frenchman's Bay has given me a deep appreciation for our waterfront, conservation lands, trails, parks, and green spaces. These natural treasures are part of what defines Pickering, and I believe they deserve to be protected and preserved for future generations to enjoy.
At 58 years old, I bring real-world experience and proven leadership to this campaign. Fifteen years ago, I founded my own exterior siding and eavestrough contracting company and built it from the ground up through hard work, determination, and accountability. As a small business owner, I understand the challenges faced by working families, seniors, and local businesses. I know the value of every dollar earned, and I believe taxpayers deserve the same respect from their municipal government.
Many residents know me as the person who spearheaded the grassroots movement to protect Pickering's waterfront in 2019 and 2020. When a proposal was brought forward to construct two 23-storey condominium towers adjacent to our protected waterfront, marshlands, and public beach, I organized residents, led community opposition efforts, and demanded greater transparency throughout the process.
Through Freedom of Information requests, our team uncovered documents that raised important questions about discussions involving city officials and Ontario Power Generation representatives regarding the nuclear emergency planning zone and the proposed development. We worked tirelessly to bring these matters into the public eye and ensure residents had access to information that directly affected their community.
Together, we stood up, spoke out, and ultimately succeeded in stopping the project.
That experience reinforced something I have long believed: when residents are informed, engaged, and united, their voices can make a difference.
Today, I am running for Mayor because I believe Pickering needs to restore integrity, accountability, transparency, and democracy at City Hall. Too many residents feel their concerns are dismissed, their questions go unanswered, and their voices are treated as an inconvenience rather than a vital part of the democratic process.
I want to change that.
My commitment is to re-enfranchise the people of Pickering and ensure that every resident has a meaningful opportunity to participate in decisions that affect their neighbourhoods, their businesses, and their future. If elected Mayor, I will advocate for the full restoration of delegation times at council meetings and ensure that residents are never prevented from bringing forward their concerns, ideas, or grievances. No matter what a resident's concern may be, they deserve the opportunity to be heard respectfully, openly, and fairly.
I believe City Hall should belong to the people—not the other way around.
I am committed to restoring public confidence in how municipal decisions are made. If elected, I will initiate an independent review of planning and development practices within the City of Pickering. Independent legal, financial, and forensic experts will be engaged where appropriate to examine development approval processes, compliance procedures, fee collection practices, and relationships between developers, elected officials, and municipal departments over the past decade. The goal will be simple: to ensure that municipal processes have been conducted lawfully, ethically, transparently, and in the best interests of residents.
Transparency should never be feared. It should be welcomed.
In addition, I will commission an independent audit and public review of the revenues received from Pickering Casino. With approximately $25 million being received annually through the casino revenue-sharing agreement, residents deserve a clear accounting of how those funds have been managed, allocated, and spent. I want to ensure that every dollar is being used responsibly and directed toward projects and priorities that provide the greatest benefit to Pickering residents.
Throughout my career and my community involvement, I have never been afraid to ask difficult questions, challenge the status quo, or stand up for what I believe is right. As Mayor, I will bring that same determination to City Hall.
My vision for Pickering is straightforward: a city government that is open, transparent, fiscally responsible, and genuinely accountable to the people it serves. A city where residents are respected, where public participation is encouraged, and where decisions are made in the best interests of the community.
I am not a career politician. I am a resident, a business owner, a taxpayer, and a community advocate who believes Pickering deserves better. I am running to give residents their voice back, rebuild trust in local government, protect what makes Pickering special, and ensure that City Hall once again works for the people of Pickering.
Together, we can build a more transparent, accountable, and democratic future for our city.

@TRobinsonNewEra Unconscionable.
I am happy to fund a wrongful death lawsuit against these disgusting excuses for law enforcement. They damn well better have been fired.
And with all due respect to my Canadian friends, whose politics focus obsessively on the United States: your stagnating living standards have nothing to do with Donald Trump or whatever bogeyman the CBC tells you to blame.
The fault lies with your leadership, elected by you.
@ShaunRickard67@TimHortons When they excluded non-vaccinated kids from their camp program for marginalized youth, I called my own personal boycott. I still miss their Boston Creme donuts but Timmies is dead to me.
💥BREAKING - THIS IS BIG: Catherine Austin Fitts provides bombshell testimony to a court in the Netherlands, who have agreed to hear what may be one of the largest and most important landmark legal cases in recent history. The lawsuit alleges crimes perpetrated worldwide by prominent global figures.
*As with @KarlDHarrison and I's landmark Vaccine Travel Mandates lawsuit, MSM are not covering this, so be sure to repost & share this information widely.
"Attorney Peter Stassen has filed a lawsuit alleging that prominent global figures tied to pandemic-era policy and pharmaceutical decision-making committed crimes against humanity. According to court filings, the lawsuit targets what Stassen describes as the architects of “The Great Reset,” naming Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, and Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla as defendants.
The case asserts that decisions surrounding COVID-19 policy, pharmaceutical deployment, and global coordination resulted in widespread harm. As part of the legal record, Stassen has entered testimony from multiple experts and researchers, including Sasha Latypova, Catherine Austin Fitts, Dr. Joseph Sansone, Dr. Michael Yeadon, and legal analyst Katherine Watt.
According to the lawsuit, the testimony presented outlines allegations of systemic misconduct, including the suppression of dissenting scientific views, coercive vaccination strategies, and the alleged concealment of long-term health risks.
The filing characterizes these actions as violations of international law, asserting that they rise to the level of crimes against humanity due to the scale and scope of the alleged harm."

🚨Ottawa Police drag Detective Helen Grus back to court days before Christmas.
Prosecution seeks to throw out 1000 pages of medical evidence showing Grus was correct.
PUBLIC CAN ATTEND - Dec 18/25 930am
Politics Stopped a Police Inquiry into a Cluster of Infant Deaths
The Most Important Legal Case in the History of Canadian Policing
Ottawa Police Detective Helen Grus, a veteran investigator in the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit, was convicted of Discreditable Conduct under Ontario’s Police Services Act on March 25, 2025.
Incredibly, the internal Tribunal Officer found that Detective Grus should have asked for permission before initiating an investigation into an unusual cluster of infant deaths – due to the “political and societal ramifications” of her inquiries, and because she was investigating “public officials”.
The written decision eliminates the right and duty of Canadian police officers to conduct investigations without political interference – or to investigate public officials or politicians without prior permission from above.
If allowed to stand, the Grus decision will undermine public confidence in the independence of police investigations, and cause serving police officers to look the other way when they suspect wrongdoing by ‘public officials’ or see possible crimes that have ‘political ramifications.’

@joeroganhq Tamara Lich and Chris Barber. (@LichTamara@ChrisBarber1975 ). Leaders of Canada's Freedom Convoy. There are others involved, but they were the one who were endlessly prosecuted by our government.
Jas is dying from multiple myeloma.
CAR-T can save him in ONE infusion & it’s approved & working everywhere except Canada.
It’s even publicly funded in America.
Meanwhile, our government walked away.
He worked on several of my builds and not ONCE did he complain and always had a smile on his face.
I didn’t know about ANY of this until well after I started talking to him about other projects.
He was working, HARD, everyday, while on chemo!
Our government may have given up but it doesn’t mean we have to.
Please help Save Jas.
Carney's seemingly shady shenanigans using our federal funds & pension funds to enrich himself and Brookfield actually began way back at the start of the 'pandemic'. Fast forward to today, and he and Brookfield are set to pocket an absolutely ridiculous amount of money at our expense.
It's considerably worse and way more despicable than most of us could have ever possibly imagined. What you are about to hear is deeply troubling, it plays out like a sinister movie plot.
I've clipped and spliced together three of Robin's videos here to provide an easily digestible timeline and detailed breakdown - Be sure to share this information to get the word out, especially with the elbows up crowd.
Full credit goes to, Robin Hillier on this excellent work and research - Be sure to give him a follow: @modernagentsinc on X and robin_hillier on Instagram.
I asked @grok, please define and explain what de-risking investments means, how it's done, why it's done, and whether or not using these tactics with Federal funds and/or pension funds to personally financially benefit oneself as PM Mark Carney has done is legal or not.
If accurate, what it came back with here (link below) could possibly bury Mark Carney and the Liberals. Take a read: https://t.co/Qas7Z8L04S
CANADIAN OSTRICH MASSACRE UPDATE
Trish Wood and I discuss in-depth how CFIA and RCMP appear to have violated sections s.65, s.445.1, and potentially s.446 of the criminal code - As a result, they all MUST be held accountable and forced to explain their actions, and who their orders came down from.
Please be sure to share and repost this report, and tag anyone you feel may be able to help. The world needs to know about the atrocities that the Canadian government perpetrated on its own citizens on November 6th & 7th, 2025 in Edgewood, British Columbia, Canada, and the horrific animal abuse and unnecessary suffering that they intentionally & vindictively inflicted on healthy sentient animals.
Given the emerging evidence we have gathered, we need Canadian & international news agencies and investigative journalists to to run with this story. We are also calling for both Canadian & worldwide governing bodies to open full and in-depth criminal investigations into the cruel and inhumane slaughter of 300+ healthy ostriches and the vile & vindictive way in which it was executed before the RCMP, CFIA and perhaps even the PMO are able to destroy evidence related to their crimes.

The CHD report meticulously documents how Canada's vaccine travel mandates violated Charter rights on mobility and bodily autonomy, citing internal government records showing political imposition over scientific advice from health agencies. CHD, founded by RFK Jr. to combat perceived health policy overreach, likely sees this as a vital precedent against global coercion tactics, amplifying cross-border fights for informed consent. Canadian mainstream media's silence reflects institutional bias toward official narratives, avoiding scrutiny of Trudeau-era decisions that affected millions.
