They’re right that every bit of stuff in your life adds some overhead, but this one’s worth it.
Vintage 1995, babied by Durham, England’s fire brigade for most of its life, original everything, 71k miles, has only needed its oil changed on my watch.
Started shopping for a Defender to bring home in late 2019 as I knew my time in England was nearing an end. Showed my kids a photo of this one and they made me buy it.
My daughter is no longer impressed by it, but my son won’t let me drive him in anything else (when it’s out of storage).
Someday it may become a burden, but it’s pure fun for now!
@bryantaucoin I had to have shown them like 20 or so green, blue, gray, and black ones that all fell flat. The red one got em!
It's one of 3 red body/white top Defender 110s in Durango now. There's an 80s vintage (technically a Series III, pre-Defender) and late 90s/early 00s vintage.
@forcethehabit You'll find it!
Best part of the story was the seller wouldn't take a bank transfer. I had to withdraw £18k in bills from my Lloyds branch and protect it with my life for the train journey from London to Margate!
I’ve got 4 tickets to England v Croatia in Dallas on June 17th that I’m not going to use.
If you’re in Dallas (or can get there) and want them, I’ll transfer at face value. Category 2 seats all together at $500 each.

There’s an isolated thunderstorm that’s formed north of Milton Keynes.
As there’s clear blue sky around it in all directions, it should be visible from 50-100 miles away.
Share a pic if you can see it!

While retwit was twisting its knickers about an influencer with impressive facial hair, I was closing on another 100k sq ft of metal buildings below replacement cost.
Still can't grow facial hair, still don't know about floating rate caps, and still don't take investor money.
