While CPI inflation up to 3.7%, inflation is much higher in many crucial categories:
1. Fuel Oil Inflation: +74.2%
2. Gasoline Inflation: +34.2%
3. Airline Fares Inflation: +22.4%
4. Car Repair Inflation: +5.8%
5. Hospital Services Inflation: +5.6%
6. Utility Gas Inflation: +5.0%
7. Electricity Inflation: +4.4%
8. Fruits and Vegetables Inflation: +3.7%
This marks the 67th-straight month with US CPI inflation above the Fed's 2% target.
After 5+ years of persistent inflation, the top 1% of US households are now worth ~14 TIMES the bottom 50%.
Affordability is still getting worse.
This morning, I created a “countries I’ve visited” home widget with @hark_labs that I found pretty neat.
Thinking of adding landmarks like the Coliseum in Rome to my globe with pictures that I took next.
What I've done this week with @hark_labs:
1. Turned a messy spreadsheet into a live page that I can sort and filter
2. Sourced candidates on LinkedIn, outreached, and scheduled interviews
3. Got a 9 AM to-do list every morning, pulled from my work and personal inbox
4. Found restaurants and booked dinners for a 9-person bachelor weekend
5. Built a stock portfolio and executed on trades
6. Hunted a Tahoe ski lease every day, across local property managers, Zillow, etc.
7. Watched my flight prices, reminds me to check in, and books
8. Nudged me and orders dinner on days I'm at the office
and this is only the beginning.
Of course your boss asks for the report just as you're walking out the door. It's science.
Hark Pro helps you get it all done so you can set off on that trip well-caffeinated.
The speed of light in a vacuum is exactly 299,792,458 metres per second, not an experimental measurement but a definition, because since 1983 the metre itself is defined as the distance light travels in 1/299,792,458 of a second.
The circularity is intentional: fixing the speed of light as exact makes the definition of length stable across the universe, independent of any physical artefact that could change over time.
We're past 562,000 users on Hark since Tuesday's launch
And we're launching 12 major features over the next ~60 days. It only gets better from here
I love the feedback. Here's how people are using it:
- Discovering and filing health insurance claims
- Setting reminders and recurring check-ins
- Finding and booking hotels and flights
- Canceling tons of unused subscriptions
- Cleaning up inboxes and unsubscribing
- Building panels for training routines
- Budgeting with connected accounts
- Shopping and handling returns
- Ordering groceries and food
- Organizing family logistics
- Tracking social media stats
- Handling visa applications
- Remembering anniversaries
- Claiming airline refunds
Any feedback to share?
Sharing some early design decisions we made for Hark Pro. Fun to show the thinking on what makes Hark feel so magical.
We always felt that sidebars on AI apps were so clogged from managing all of your conversations you never really go back to. It felt like such a waste of space. So we had the idea of making the side bar something relevant and personal to you instead - something that showed you what was most important. That eventually became even better by becoming fully customisable for you with panels and proactivity in the platform today.
The core of that works because of our single thread chat and Hark’s incredible ability around memory and understanding you and your context.
Anyway here’s a fun little prototype of Hark back in December and how far we’ve come as a team to what we have today - so much better, more beautiful, capable but still holding on to those values that we knew would make an incredible experience.
Your data is yours. We never sell it. We never advertise with it. You can always delete it.
But we do... surprise our CEO with a lie detector test from a long-tenured polygraph examiner. So you don't just have to take our word for it.
Amazon banning agents is the first opportunity I've seen since Amazon was founded for a startup to create an Amazon competitor. People will want agents to buy stuff for them. It will be one of the main use cases. And they won't want to use some Amazon-supplied agent to do it.
