Why respect is a massive issue at work. Research shows that for employees, “feeling respected” is 17.9 times more powerful a predictor of an organisation’s overall culture score than the average factor (& almost twice as strong as the 2nd most important factor, supportive leadership).
As leaders, we may show disrespect repeatedly in seemingly small ways that have a very negative impact on people & culture, eg, by showing disregard for others’ effort, expertise, time or failing to include them.
Three strategies:

Enkele interessante cijfers uit een telewerk-enquête door de FOD Mobiliteit en Vervoer:

⁃31% van de Belgen werkt minstens 1 dag per week thuis. 
⁃Volgens de FOD werden er dankzij telewerk 34 miljoen kilometers per dag, waarvan 16 miljoen kilometers met de auto, vermeden.
⁃Brusselaars doen regelmatiger aan telewerk. 45 procent van de respondenten telewerkt minstens één dag per week, tegenover 26 procent van de Walen en 32 procent van de Vlamingen. Ook treinpendelaars zijn grote telewerkers.
⁃Hoe groter de woon-werkafstand, hoe meer werknemers meer dagen thuis werken. Als de afstand meer dan 50km bedraagt, dan telewerkt bijna 60% van de respondenten minstens 1 dag per week.
⁃De favoriete telewerkdagen zijn woensdag en vrijdag.
