✍️We joined the world in commemoration of #WorldAidsDay2024 with other #CSOs in @of_siaya. During this the county launched the #AYP Action Plan on HIV and SRHR for the period 2024-2027 in response to the alarming rise in #teenpregnancies, new #HIV infections among AYP aged 10 to 24 in Siaya.

✍️The county and partners committed interventions addressing prevention, treatment & stigma aimed at the fight against #HIV /AIDS #teenpregnancy which stands at 21%, and #GBV affecting 24% of adolescents and young people

✍️Our interventions at the community level continue to promote safe sex practices, condom education and distribution, and access to Pre and Post Exposure Prophylaxis to ensure young people living positively are supported in treatment, mental support, and adherence to care as this will contribute to reduction of new HIV infections among the AYP

☑️We held a community dialogue meeting with parents of young mothers and community gate keepers on how to advocate for #ASRHRS and #CSE, it was evident that lack of proper policies in place, inadequate access to knowledge & information are major contributing factors to cases of #teen_pregnancy in the rural communities.
☑️Also discussed on #mentalhealth services for the young mothers and their parents, awareness creation on #MenstrualHygiene, teen mothers #Stigma, access to #contraceptives services & information and improved #MCH services in the community.

Awareness creation ignites conversation for championing & advocating for maternal health gaps in rural communities to promote access to friendly services.

We have joined the world in celebration of #WorldContraceptionDay2024 #WorldContraceptionDay at Rarieda @of_siaya together with the community, state and non-state actors, #CSOs and partners, this is to show commitment in ensuring that the communities have appropriate information on #contraceptive, that the #AGYWs have the power in their hands to make choices on #contraceptive, and everyone should be guaranteed freedom to choose any type of contraceptive they prefer.
The commitment to make sure that the #MCH service are available at the different facilities and can be accessed with ease.

°During the month of #SuicidePreventionMonth we continue to raise awareness about all forms of stigma youths and #AYPs, by encouraging people to come together and engage in open conversations to prevent suicide incidents in communities and institutions.

°These conversations #Enlighten build up a well informed society, that supportive of young people's needs understanding to break down Intergenerational barriers,continue to raise awareness and create better support cultures.

°We've had an interactive session with @Jooustonline peers educators on how to support comrades with counselling and active social activities as a way of curbing #depression and #mentalhealth support.
