Dr. Sabiha Baloch, a central leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), speaks out against the enforced disappearance of Baloch women.

“ In Balochistan, enforced disappearances have spread from our youth and men to Baloch women, including a woman who was eight months pregnant. This is not only injustice, it is a crime against humanity.”

In response, BYC is launching a five-day campaign against the enforced disappearance of Baloch women.

Campaign Activities:
1.Launch of an online petition demanding justice and an end to enforced disappearances of Baloch Women.
2.Families of victims, activists, students, writers, and supporters will participate by sharing stories, testimonies, and campaign materials.
3.Use of art as resistance and remembrance, including poetry, writing, music, and visual art.
4.Symbolic actions and peaceful protests to highlight the suffering of Baloch women and demand accountability.
5.A concluding webinar featuring activists, families of the disappeared, and voices from across Balochistan.

Every voice matters. Silence empowers oppression. Stand up. Speak out.

BLC highlights a ghost school in Wadh Kharan which is registered on paper but with no building, no location, yet a teacher draws salary. Children are denied education while funds are misused. We demand a real school, teachers on merit & a transparent investigation.

We strongly protest the Pakistan army chief’s reported offer to the United States to build a base in Pasni, made without our knowledge or consent, as we are the rightful owners of this land. We demand that no decisions about our land be made without our full participation and approval. While we support development, trade, and progress, each new port or project has led to increased security zones and more restrictions on locals in Balochistan.

For decades, the people of Pasni and the Makran coast have lived under militarization and increasing security concerns. We have watched our land and sea handed over to outsiders in the name of development. Each new deal, whether with China or now the U.S., comes without consultation, consent, or justice. As I mentioned, we are not opposed to development. We are against being erased from it. Our coast is not a bargaining chip in a geopolitical game. It is home, history, and identity.

Giving access to another foreign power without informing the Baloch will deepen repression. Unfortunately, in Balochistan, Ports and projects bring more military checkpoints than opportunities. They bring more surveillance than a sense of security or a better life. When a port is built, a prison also rises. Our disappeared ones are kept, tortured, and dumped there.

I appeal to the @usembislamabad and @usconsulatekhi: If such a decision is made with Pakistani military Generals, there must be transparency. There must be consultation. There must be genuine participation of the local population.
