Over the last century, defeat has been the near-constant companion of Indiana University football. But with a new coach, new players, and new energy, the Hoosiers shot up to No. 1 in just two years. It has everyone asking: How did they pull this off? 60 Minutes, Sunday.
The CFP based solely on *Rรฉsumรฉ SP+* after 6 weeks:
9 Texas A&M at 8 Mizzou
-- 1 Indiana
12 Alabama at 5 Miami
-- 4 Texas Tech
11 BYU at 6 Oklahoma
-- 3 Oregon
10 Memphis at 7 Ole Miss
-- 2 Ohio State
@ZachOsterman Given that the follow-up to IUFBโs last good season was the team crashing back to earth in 21, what should we expect in 25? Would it be wrong to be happy with an 8-4 season and excited for 9-3?
The Indiana CFP discourse feels pretty tired now. Sport moves on. IU certainly has.
But if thereโs a punctuation to this season, it should be that given all the relevant context, Indiana has nothing to defend or apologize for in 2024. Hindsight has been validating.
Indiana only lost two games all season, both on the road, to Ohio State and Notre Dame, the two teams playing for the national championship. #iufb
The manufactured narrative that IU didnโt belong in the College Football Playoff can formally be classified as utter nonsense.
@ZachOsterman They have a very high floor and are generally excellent. But sometimes they are just gems like this one. It was also nice to know they are happy for IU.
@DanWetzel@InvescoUS@RossDellenger@ByPatForde@joedeleone It isnโt animal cruelty but Georgia Techโs fight song includes:
But if I had a son, sir, I'll tell you what he'd doโ
He would yell, 'To hell with Georgia!' like his daddy used to do.
Enjoy the pod.
