being mindy isser gotta be the craziest experience in the world bc she will tweet something like “i wish there weren’t hypodermic needles on the sidewalk” and then have 500 freaks tweet at her saying “so you think everyone who’s ever used drugs should be put in an incinerator??”
I admire the courage of people protesting the ICE raids in California. I'm against violent protests and think they're counterproductive. I also think that non-violent protests send a more powerful and enduring message. Have long believed in Dr. King's message about using non-violent resistance.
That said, I also hope everyone protesting stays safe. This is a long struggle, and there are many ways to support immigrants beyond what's happening right now in the streets. You can volunteer with pro-immigrant organizations, offer material aid, or even pursue a career in immigration law. I share your anger and believe we can channel this energy into something that makes meaningful change for immigrants. But to do that, you have to stay safe.
Your new building’s luxury amenities & little roof area are cute but my pre-war row house’s landlord who lives downstairs and only accepts rent via money order has like 8 large eastern european men he can summon out of nowhere to fix stuff & shoo away drunk guys on the street so
