@TheAtlantic we had a grocery store mass shooting in our town- buried someone i know. Needless deaths that hit too close to home. i went thru a month long vetting process in another state yet can walk out of a gun shop less than 2 hrs here in Colorado w/ a weapon.

@TheAtlantic Former military, NRA gun-safety courses completed, and gun owner. totally support mandatory safety classes with gun storage regulation. with the training we had in the military it’s a bit crazy to think any yahoo can carry or own without any regulation or safety training at all.

@TheAtlantic NRA needs to change their paradigm and consider being THE safety course go-to in the U.S vs the push to total unregulated ownership. Friends in law enforcement have extra challenge in situations trying to discern “good guys w/gun” vs “active shooters” What a mess
