It was a pleasure to give a talk today to @u3a_UK’s Windsor local history group about the attempted assassination of Queen Victoria in Windsor. We discussed the precarious nature of Victorian society and attitudes towards mental health in the 19th century. Thanks for having me!

There are so many people across the country, entirely committed to preserving the history of the UK, about to lose jobs and livelihoods. Nevermind the loss of the institutions themselves. Speak up before history is lost irretrievably as local authority funding is slashed.

I’m so proud of my Nan for having her 3rd book published. Due to illness, she was left unable to cope with the eye movement of reading and writing. She had to relearn these skills and discovered her love for writing poetry. She inspires me very much ❤️
