You guys remember this Brother here? At the height of Carbon Financing Craze, he operated an NGO huko Netherlands, called Global Center For Adaptation.
Convinced that he could bring him a lot of cash, WanTam quickly gave him immunity privileges, even making him chancellor of one of our local universities.
In addition, the guy was given land belonging to a local University for his affordable housing projects.
Fast forward.
His organization was accused of corruption, government of Netherlands and other donors removed their funding forcing him to relocate operations to Nairobi, where he had been given some lucrative deals in Luxury affordable housing projects.
After failing to bring in the anticipated Carbon Financing billions, Kasongo WanTam had parliament withdraw the immunity he had given him😂😂😂😂
So, Kenya didn't lose its sovereignty by selling Safaricom shares to Vadacom, a British company but loses its sovereignty by selling shares in KPC to Uganda! How shallow minded.
How can we surrender our hard fought Sovereignty or cede any ground to a small landlocked Banana Republic with a GDP the size of Nairobi 👀😳🧐

The strange part in all this is that you are a journalist.
If you have been following the MoF reporting, especially in the national budget, you would notice a consistent format. Instead of expressing figures in trillions, they often present them in billions. For example, they will write UGX 94,869.5 billion rather than simplifying it to UGX 94 trillion.
As far as I know, it is a standard reporting style used in official budget documents
@KakandeAlex Do the old bond holders get an adjusted rate or is the 27% for new bond holders? Who buys the 2020 Nigeria 10 year that still holds a (16%) lower interest rate? @kahororo_
Stadiums in North Africa, like Morocco's Prince Moulay Stadium (65,000 capacity, $75 million) and Egypt's 93,000-capacity stadium ($20 million), seem cheaper to build compared to those in other Uganda's Hoima City Stadium (20,000 capacity, $131 million).
Will the persons you are explaining to actually understand this simple dynamic of currencies? At the end of the day, it is about how much a standard basket of goods costs and how much you earn of the so called "weak" currency.
Denomination is arbitrary. Think of it like shares of stock. A company can have 1 million shares worth $100 each (market cap: $100 million), or it can do a "stock split" and have 100 million shares worth $1 each (market cap: still $100 million). Nothing fundamental has changed.
Countries can default on bonds just like Ghana did a few years ago. Bonds are not the magic bullet for investment. In fact, high interest bonds being issued by BoU are stiffling private sector growth.
URA SACCO is selling its land in Gayaza Busiika to invest in bonds after realizing the land isn’t growing at a pace the T- Bonds have been growing at.
If you want to buy a plot of land. They are also selling to external people.
James, calling Kyagulanyi “too ghetto” may be your opinion, but it reeks more of personal frustration than sober analysis. Let’s be honest: you haven’t achieved even 5% of what Kyagulanyi has built in influence, courage, sacrifice, or historical relevance , and you’re roughly the same age, if not older.
If credibility were earned by outcomes rather than airtime, you would be far quieter. A few years on radio and a failed online station don’t magically crown one a national intellectual or moral referee. We’ve repeatedly watched your tweets reason like a restless adolescent (I'm sorry to say this), yet you imagine yourself qualified to psychoanalyse a man who has reshaped Uganda’s political imagination.
The coordinated hostility toward Kyagulanyi is now predictable , the same recycled talking points, the same convenient proximity to regime handouts, the same intellectual dishonesty dressed up as “bravery.” What is disappointing is watching you voluntarily diminish yourself into a rental propagandist instead of building something that can stand on its own merit.
And let’s retire this tired myth of self-appointed “elites” whose opinions must automatically matter. History is full of "elite fools "loud, credentialed, mediocre men who confuse proximity to microphones with proximity to wisdom. Real stature is built through impact, not commentary.
You can still find relevance in your own lane, James. But tearing down people who tower above you won’t elevate you , it only exposes the insecurity you’re trying so desperately to camouflage.
Zimbabwe recently culled hundreds of elephants to feed people affected by drought. None of these diseases have become endemic as a result. Your worries are misplaced.
These are the potential health risks they may incur
1. Bacterial infections
2. Parasitic infections
3. Anthrax exposure
4. Tetanus risk
5. Tuberculosis (TB)
6. Heavy metal toxicity
7. Brucellosis
8. Food poisoning from spoiled meat
9. Zoonotic viral infections
10. Chemical contamination
Our last stop was at a food distribution center in Mulanje. This activity is part of the payout that #Malawi received following the recent drought. Beneficiary households will receive one 50kg bag of maize per month for the next 5 months.

The #ADRiFi (Africa Disaster Risk Financing Programme) program was born in 2017. The first countries to join were #Madagascar and the #Gambia. In 2023, the #ACRIFA (Africa Climate Risk Insurance Facility for Adaptation) was launched - @DonaldSingue, Coordinator.

Panellists from the first session at the #CDRFIforum on "The Global CDRFI Landscape - Emerging Trends and African Perspective" agreed that better coordination at national level and beyond, as well as political will are key to increase the uptake of CDRFI instruments.
The people in the HOA are not honest. Corruption and nepotism based on clans are endemic in Somalia, Ethiopia and other countries in the Horn. Stealing government resources surely is not honesty.
@Raymo_Joe32 President Issayias Afeworki is NOT corrupt. I doubt he even owns a personal house.
As I've said, in the Horn of Africa, where political leaders live to serve their countries, not to amass wealth.
But this also is their undoing, especially when you need some compromise.
