1) I’m currently working on my Mres project looking at the responses of different taxonomic groups to natural habitat availability with @CharlieLouO and @tnewbold31 at @UCLCBER 🌳🦎🪲
2) your turn @chrislow29 @animal__alice !
For the first time since 1939 there are naturally born baby tortoises on the Galapagos Islands. Exotic rats have destroyed almost every nest for the past 100 years. A massive conservation effort eliminated all the rats. Now, we finally babies. Things are looking up.
In light of @benham_char talk on optimism in conservation, I thought I’d share some good news happening in conservation. Charlotte mentioned that the European bison populations are RECOVERING, and will be introduced to the U.K. in 2022!! Share your good news more!#SciCommference
Really important message - negative headlines can affect our perception of #conservation effort and attitudes so let's celebrate success!
