@jonathanramont Importantly for contemporary theonomists, it was none other than Van Til who argued the attributes of Scripture (e.g., sufficiency, clarity, authority) ought to apply also to the book of Nature.
@jonathanramont I have been memorizing the Catechism this year! As part of that project, I ended up putting the questions and answers to music to aid memory, varying the genres widely as well.
Here’s the one for Q. 33-34: https://t.co/CiRt5c9c0L
Would love to hear your reaction to the project!
We're excited to open applications for the @TRBCFW pastoral internship for 2026-2027!
You can find last year's syllabus and the online application at our website: https://t.co/fNlJ4fDr1x
@Alex_DiPrima@TonyReinke Yes! I say this all the time!
We assign it in our internship. I call it a book on pastoring disguised as a book on the Christian life!
My husband has chosen the last 48 hours of the Olympics to get REALLY into curling. The only sport that has been on every single day of the Olympics and he chooses now?? YOU’RE LATE @benjaminjrobin
@EddyEkofo@DirkWalstead@jonathanramont I would simply suggest that Bavinck intersects the current biblicist/retrievalist debate at a perpendicular angle, personally.
@EddyEkofo@DirkWalstead@jonathanramont To make sense of Bavinck’s theology, though, we need to reckon with all that he said.
For example, “properly speaking, a dogmatic system can never be obtained from Scripture. One would get at most a kind of Biblical Theology, or whatever else one might call this discipline.”
@EddyEkofo@DirkWalstead@jonathanramont Hey brother, I don’t think we’ve met. To be honest, I’m not sure what way you’re taking Bavinck, as I’m not aware of your work. To be clear, I think what Bav said in the original quote is true and simply what the Reformers meant by what is sometimes called sola Scriptura.
Grateful to gift every TXPC attendee Reaching Your Child’s Heart—thanks to our partner @NewGrowthPress. A gospel-centered encouragement for pastors + parents to shepherd hearts, not just behavior.

@lukestamps One of the more baffling parts of that conversation!
“Why wouldn’t God reveal more obvious proofs to a 21st century Western mind like including Einstein’s formulas in the context of an ancient near Eastern text?”
If that’s not “narrow-minded,” I don’t know what is.
@jonathanramont Do we know what nature teaches by inference or intuition in your view?
It seems to me this is a crucial neo-Thomist/neo-Calvinist divide.
