When @a_hudy was told that—as a woman—she wouldn’t be the right fit for a program, she didn’t stop. Instead, she’s built a championship culture that includes 9 national titles, 30+ conference titles, and has helped nearly 100 athletes go pro. Read her story.
The Single Leg Squat
One of the movements we do a lot w/ our junior high athletes. We start w/ easier progressions, and work towards this. We want to do it correctly, and then do it correctly w/ additional weight. Slow and steady progress.
Be the coach your players never forget!
• Not because you knew the game so well.
• Not because you had the most rings.
• Not because you were the toughest.
But because you loved them with all your heart, and gave them all you had!
Something to think about as we wind down track and start to ramp up XC. Steve Cram ran 46.2 for 400, 1:42 for 800, and 3:46 for the mile, including WRs at 1500m and the mile. This is what he says about cross country.
Are you a participant or observer in life?
It seems like w are increasingly becoming observers. More watching, less doing.
Doing tends to ground us. Reminds of the difficulty in creating and pursuing.
Everything looks easier when we are watching a game, instead of playing.

Some basics that if done, will make it hard not to improve as an athlete
Sprint 2x weekly. 1 day longer, 1 day shorter. Full speed, full rest
Jump 2x weekly. Some jumps w/ fast/short contacts, some long & full
Train upper/lower 1-2x in 1-5 rep ranges
Track progress for all
Trust me when I say this
4 straight weeks of the SAME exercises done the right way with quality intent

Changing things up just because you feel you have to in order to be doing your job
