@mortynorick Instagram lately has been adding tools that small businesses can utilize that will benefit them. I like what they are doing because this is the one of the major platforms that is adding tools to help small businesses.
@AmberMartin02 Social media is definitely detrimental for a younger person’s mental health. Unfortunately, kids now are used to being on electronics so much that they see it as normal. I remember growing up as a kid and playing outside, but now kids are usually playing with tablets or phones.
@Jacksles29@motherboard I can agree with you that this is an interesting concept as a form of entertainment, but it’s definitely not going to imitate the real experience. Just like others mentioned I remember seeing the Tupac hologram go viral and it looked cool, but wasn’t the actual experience.
@emilycainlb This is definitely one of the good trends that has come from TikTok that can allow everyone to participate as well. Most of the times the challenges that get the most publicity are the ones that leave some people out or are dangerous.
As someone who plays videogames regularly, I was always are of being able to buy skins in certain games, but never in real life. Being able to buy digital clothes sounds pretty odd and I don't know if it'll be successful. https://t.co/LgFov45b1h via @vice#csulbsmc
@Joel029384743 I haven't followed up with Facebook or now known as Meta recently. I just find it weird after having the name Facebook for so long, what is the purpose of them changing the name now.
@stephjour_ This is actually pretty wild, I feel like once an account is deactivated that all ties should be cut from the individual and the platform. This tactic is pretty intrusive and makes a lot of people have distrust for social media.
@emilycainlb@verge It's crazy how people on the internet can find out so much with such little information. I feel like once someone becomes famous, they try to find out everything about them including their past. Luckily, in this case it wasn't something negative.
@Jacksles29 I definitely agree that using Instagram as a tool for activism is a double-edged sword. There are too many people who hide behind fake accounts that spend their day spreading negativity. Some of the things that people say can take a toll on these activists mental health.
https://t.co/3hNLh9PZQm It’s shocking to see that the people who are supposed to “protect and serve” the community are the ones who are also tearing it down online. A policy was implemented after these actions, but officers believed it is to intrusive to follow. #csulbsmc
@marissa_lopez22 As much as people disagree with his policies, there are plenty of people who are supporters regardless of how much misinformation he's spread. I don't think the platform will have much success, but unfortunately there are people who will continuously follow.
@IzzyBfrith This is actually pretty cool, I didn't know that Instagram implemented this feature. I find it interesting that using the analytics, they're able to find out which pumpkin flavored food is popular in each state.
@emilycainlb@NewYorker This is my first time hearing about Raya, but I think the exclusivity which is the subscription is smart because it can get rid of the problem of fake profiles. I just don't think that it can be popular as other platforms due to the exclusivity.
@MartinCSULB I am not surprised that this platform is already off to a bad start. Personally, I do not think this platform is going to gain as much traction and be compared or competing with platforms like Instagram or Twitter.

Twitter doesn't know why the algorithm favors conservative views, but should try to be equal and favor a variety of opinions. There should be a way that they can fix the way the algorithm, it is kind of similar to facebook favoring hate speech. #csulbsmc
@Jacksles29@TechCrunch I like to see that Instagram is adding various tools for content creators to increase engagement with fans. It helps fans stay coordinated with the influencers they choose to keep up with.
@MartinCSULB Facebook would rather focus on profits like any another business would, but is often the reason why a lot of hateful crimes happen. The only way to keep members engaged is by making ads that meant for them and their ideology.
