@michael_on_x_@MobofJoggers Public perception permanently knee capped nuclear energy, we donβt want the same thing to happen to life saving autonomy.
@MobofJoggers I honestly started to read electrek again in the last few weeks, I used to read everyday from 2016-2021 but got tired of his pessimism. But obviously this man is unwell, and I assume his readers are too at this point.
@_esk_kse_ to your point, why did google just sign ~$920M a month deal with Spacex to lease compute from them? What is googles plan to scale AI compute over the next 3 years when NIMBY's, power and water requirements make building new AI data centers prohibitively expensive?
@boriquagato Every generation eats more at restaurants and gets delivery more than the previous generation, and most of that is loaded up with more sodium and fat than you would ever cook at home, that's why it tastes better, but is killing faster.
@kylascan We learned the mistakes of our boomer parents, they partied and spent all their cash in their 20's and 30's without saving for retirement, and now depend on their kids because that was their retirement plan. We didn't get the luxury of recklessness.
Something I haven't seen in the DoorDash discourse, maybe all those instagram photo's we took of food 15 years ago gave gen z unrealistic foody standards?
@danae_hudlow Its not just eating out, I was shocked when I saw that chart saying Gen Z was on average paying 22% of their food budget on delivery. Who knew ordering a private taxi regularly for your food would make it hard to save money?
@alanthefisher@StatisticUrban I don't want 30 Million acres of US farmland wasted on ethanol production, or 175 Million acres dedicated to animal feed, but we don't all get what we want. Atleast I can personally benefit on the AI boom vs gov't subsidized farmers.
