Can the hon @AshwiniBhide@MMRDAOfficial folks pl do one recce from BKC metro station to 4-5 prominent offices on foot please ? Can some good pavements be behold with urgency ?
To everyone saying "just use the metro."
The BKC metro station drops you 1.5-2.5km from most offices.
That last stretch? Auto or taxi. Back in traffic. Square one.
And to the genius saying “2-3km is walkable, Europeans do it all the time”
Yes, I walk 10-15km a day when I am in Europe. Happily.
But I am not walking in a city where pedestrians share the exact same road as trucks and buses, breathing direct exhaust from their tailpipes.
And if you still think Mumbai is London, Paris, or Shanghai - based on a WhatsApp forward your uncle sent - you are precisely the reason Mumbai is exactly where it is today.
The folks are blind ! They haven’t seen the connectivity issues plaguing anyone coming in from western suburbs ! Even the BKC metro exit doesn’t connect to the prominent offices vide a paved footpath ! @MMRDAOfficial
As an organisation committed to sustainable and efficient urban mobility, MMRDA believes meaningful change begins by leading through action.
MMRDA officials and employees will adopt public transport on Fridays, encouraging citizens, professionals and organisations across BKC to explore sustainable commuting choices.
The BKC Weekly Public Transport Day initiative is a voluntary effort to build awareness, encourage smarter travel habits and promote greater use of public transport.
Choosing public transport even once a week can contribute towards a cleaner, more efficient and future-ready Mumbai.
Without getting political about it , the establishment has to keep the environment in centre of every urban planning initiative . Reforestation 400 kms away is an eyewash . @CMOMaharashtra
Anybody from this regime celebrating World Environment Day is a farce!
For the State and Municipal Corporations, let them speak on the following first before they can make videos and reels:
1) Allowing mines by diluting tiger corridors in Gadchiroli
2) Diluting the Eco Sensitive Zone in the Sahayadris- Western Ghats
3) Proposed hacking of 45,000 mangrove trees in Mumbai
4) Proposed hacking of 5,00,000 trees in Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary for Gargai Dam project
5) Legalising encroachments of bungalows and hotels in Sanjay Gandhi National Park under the name of a “master plan”
6) Diverting Forest land in Yeoor Forest, Thane to benefit a select few builders
7) Proposed chopping of the Vetal Tekdi hill for a road that isn’t needed
8) The riverfront destruction project in Pune which is the only example in the world where a river will be narrowed, shallowed. This will also increase the danger of floods to Pune city and its vicinity.
9) The government’s extreme keenness on cutting down Ajni Vann forest in Nagpur city
10) Proposed hacking of trees in the Empress Botanical Gardens of Pune
11) Failure to reduce the pollution emission from thermal power plants by not enforcing basic pollution control measures.
12) failure to shut down fly ash ponds and coal washeries near thermal power plants even
13) Hacking of trees in Nashik in the name of “development”, more so proposing to cut down Tapovann- the forest of meditation.
14) BMC converting recreation and playgrounds into residential plots for builders.
The list goes on.
The point is, why does the regime and its aligned organisations even put up the facade of celebrating world environment day, when all they believe in is hacking down forests, cutting down hills, and cementing up the rivers!

AI can help judges. AI can help lawyers.
But under the Supreme Court's proposed new rules, AI can NEVER decide a case.
In a first, the Supreme Court has released draft regulations on the use of AI in courts—allowing chatbots, legal research, translation and transcription, while drawing a hard line against AI judges and AI sentencing
India's judiciary is stepping into the AI era. But one principle remains unchanged - Justice may use AI. Justice will not be delivered by AI.

Just the IPOs of Jio and NSE and the subsequent exit of foreign investors can lead to 10% of India's total forex reserves getting depleted. Big numbers!!!
@AshwiniBhide@TawdeRitu Hon Commissioner & Mayor - Would request to evaluate road sweeping machines for BMC residential areas . This will achieve 1. Low AQI 2. Better health for sweepers (can be retrained )3. To avoid wasted effort as dust after sweeping resettles in same place again 🙏🙏@mybmc@mybmcWardHW
#ExpressInvestigation 🔍 | A 1-km road stretch in #Delhi can hold nearly 145 kg of dust. But the system meant to clean it is failing at almost every level.
The Indian Express tracked Delhi’s mechanical road sweepers for over 300 days, analysing 18 million GPS data points.
The investigation found that Delhi has just 95 sweeping machines — more than 80% short of the 505 recommended to control road dust.
Even this limited fleet is not being fully used. In #summer, when road dust is at its worst, only 25 routes were active on a typical day. By March, that number fell to just 15.
The deployment is uneven too, with machines concentrated more in VIP-heavy and better-funded zones, while outer areas get far less coverage.
Sanitation workers walk up to 30 km a night beside slow-moving machines, often without specialised protective gear.
And after collection, the dust is often dumped uncovered at open sites, where it can rise again.
Experts say sweepers are only a temporary fix. The real solution lies in end-to-end road paving.

Important Quiz Question:
" How many Bull Markets has India had?"
This is a deep, data driven piece, & meant ONLY for serious students of Investing.
The data might surprise. Even shock you. Because it's never going to be told to you.
Also meant for: Indian MF SIP investors. F2 Investors. NRIs.
Probably not meant for MFDs. Fund Managers, TV anchors 😉
-I show you how our recent '20-'24 Bull Market was like Maradona 's Hand of God.
-I highlight my own prop ratio for assessing Bull Markets: The Time Shift Return Dispersion.
- I show you the shifting return plane of Indian Bull Markets
-I also showcase Tim Dexter: my real & ONLY investing God.
Read very very carefully. Absorb. Savor. Swirl. Swallow. Share.
Let me know your thoughts. I read everything. I have plenty of time!
Let me give you the initial few paras right here:
How many Bull markets has India had
And why this has implications on FII and retail flows
You can tell a person from the heroes he worships. I worship Timothy Dexter.
An eccentric entrepreneur of the 1700s, he made bets that had no logic. But they turned out to be gifts of Providence.
For example, he was tricked into sending coal to Newcastle. Newcastle in England was the womb of coal. It was a move of the demented. But miners in Newcastle went on a flash strike. Coal prices shot up. Dexter made a ton.
His business rivals suggested sending bed-warming pans—a winter tool—to tropical West Indies. His ship captain sold them as molasses ladles. Dexter made out again.
My Dexter moment came in the spring of 1991. At the foothills of the Harshad Mehta boom, I espied an opportunity in a company called Karnataka Ball Bearings. The company did not seem to be having a great market for its ball bearings or whatever it is that it made. Hence, it was making massive losses.
Then one fine day, it announced that it was closing down operations.
A shifty trader sidled upto me in the trading ring of the BSE and whispered:" Buy KBB." I asked "Why?" " It's a sure thing: when it was operating it was making huge losses. But now that it has closed down, the losses will shrink. Heck, it might even turn profitable. And, by the way, I have some stock that I can sell you."
I was a callow youth. My inner Dexter was seduced by the trenchant logic. It was God's own stock. Of course, it was a set up.
I bought at Rs 5. Clearly, that low IQ Bull market thought the same and the stock went up to 150 or something.
My moderately better IQ had me sell. I had my first fortune.
You can be right for the wrong reasons and yet get rich. Mastering this is a rare skill.
I have since, always believed, Great Fortunes are often outcomes of Good Fortune.
But the reason why I mention this little story is: can we call the Harshad bull market an actual bull market? Or a bull market funded by PSU Banks, into a handful of stocks. A market that was played by a bunch of insiders (and Dexters like me). Naah, it was just a tiny, rigged wave. Dr. MMS was denied credit. That would come later....

As global bond yields rise (rapidly), inflation rises, and policy rates must rise in response to oil price driven inflation, here is what will happen: 🧵
What the doctor orders for India ~~ get investor confidence back in India 1. Welcome all FDI , a hi power team to clear all road blocks including changing tax laws , ownership structures & litigation aspects with a 30 day time frame for delivering a bill to Parliament 2. Cap gains relaxation’s for foreign investors 3. Sin taxation on gold jewellery - only way is curbing demand 4. Tax holidays on all alternate fuel investments including a massive FCNR bond issuance dedicated to these investments @RBI@FinMinIndia@SEBI_India
@CMOMaharashtra Bike taxis solve a real problem of missing Best buses / last mile issue . Being Humane is an important compass on governance - this ruling is wrong
Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has hinted at banning Bike and Taxi Apps like Ola and Rapido in Maharashtra.
Many people I know feel this decision is influenced by the Autorickshaw Cartels. Will the minister clarify his stand or is the public perception right ?
India stumbles from crisis to crisis and only initiates reform when forced to act.

I write about this dichotomy between India’s ambition and its actions here:
https://t.co/v2tV14gjKM
1/ Owing to high barriers to entry, India’s lodging and hotels industry has become a cartel that raises prices at will and fleeces customers.
India’s luxury hotel average daily rate (ADR) in Mumbai and Delhi now rival those of New York and London. Absurdly enough, the financial press sometimes celebrates this as some triumph of Indian hospitality. It is nothing of the sort. High prices are the unmistakable stamp of a supply-constrained market in a low income country, which should actually have a very competitively priced and deep pool of lodging options. The hotel industry is a structural failure being hyped as a success.
