Protests by Hindu organizations over an alleged 'Love Jihad' case have created a tense situation under the Old Hubballi police station limits.

It is alleged that a youth named Sameer, a resident of Vijaynagar in Hubballi, befriended a young woman at a gym, developed familiarity with her, and then raped her.

Activists of a Hindu organization went to Sameer's house, caught him, thrashed him, and then handed him over to the police.

Sameer, a resident of Vijaynagar in Hubballi, and a Hindu girl had become acquainted at a gym. Later, Sameer grew close to the girl.

It is alleged that he called her to his house, mixed drugs in juice, and raped her. There is also an allegation that Sameer's family members barged into the girl's house in Vikasnagar and created a ruckus.

After a few days, he allegedly showed her videos of their private moments and threatened her, sexually assaulting her multiple times. The girl did not tell her family about any of this.

However, on the evening of April 2, the matter came to the attention of the girl's family and Hindu organization activists, leading to a huge commotion.

Upon learning of the incident, Hindu activists went, thrashed Sameer, and then handed him over to the police. The situation has become increasingly tense since then.

Hindu organization activists went to Sameer's house, caught him, beat him, and then handed him over to Old Hubballi police station.

Meanwhile, believing that the girl's family had kidnapped Sameer, Sameer's family members barged into the girl's house, created a disturbance, and assaulted several people. They fled when the police arrived.

Later, Hindu organization activists and members of various communities laid siege to Old Hubballi police station and held a protest.

Against this backdrop, Hindu organizations have claimed that gyms are becoming centers for 'Love Jihad'. They alleged that Sameer befriended a Hindu girl at the gym and engaged in Love Jihad. They have demanded that Sameer receive appropriate punishment and that the gym be shut down.

Police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation.

Meanwhile, Sameer has been admitted to KIMS Hospital in Hubballi for treatment.

Responding to the allegations, Sameer's parents said, "Our son has not done any Love Jihad. Both of them were acquaintances and used to move around together. But they misunderstood the situation and assaulted him."

The victim has also released a video statement, detailing in full how she met Sameer and what happened subsequently.

"Sameer's sister Taiseem Mullah is my friend. She introduced me to Sameer, saying he was good at gym training. So we met at the gym, and later we went to birthday parties and weekend parties. Sameer also came to our birthday parties. After that, Sameer became close to me," she said.

"One day, Sameer took me to his house. Later, he gave me juice at his home and raped me. He also recorded the assault and showed me the video. He kept that video and blackmailed me," she alleged.

Cross-complaints have been filed in the matter.

While Sameer's family filed a complaint at Ashok Nagar police station regarding the abduction and assault of Sameer, a case has been registered at Vidyanagar police station regarding the sexual assault of the girl and the attack on her family members.

Police are questioning both sides.

The situation is currently tense, and it remains to be seen how this case will develop further.

Why mainstream media is not covering this horrible story of Rampur Mosque
