Excited to announce our second consecutive patent award! Our lab has developed a class of small-molecule inhibitors that target the scaffold protein RACK1 and disrupt the diverse signaling pathways it mediates. We have now received notice of allowance for a second patent covering their application in blocking replication of viruses that rely on IRES-mediated (cap-independent) translation. This project was inspired by the landmark Cell paper “RACK1 controls IRES-mediated translation of viruses” (https://t.co/mtyfAZkBav).

Excited to share that we have been awarded a patent for small molecules developed in our laboratory that effectively inhibit cancer cell migration and show strong potential to suppress metastasis.
These compounds target the scaffold protein RACK1, a key regulator of cell motility. By blocking a signaling pathway that is conserved across many cancer types, the inhibitors offer a promising strategy for addressing metastasis in a broad range of cancers.

@DocPriyamMD What test can be done to distinguish real O type from Bombay based O type? Perhaps assay for the H antigen. Real O type will have plenty of H antigen but Bombay based O type (mis typed) will have no H antigen as they are hh. Many incompatible blood transfer occurred (confusion).
