As of 12:47PM today, big disparity in intra-day % change of Clinical Stage stocks in $BBC and the Product/Commercial stocks in $BBP, with the latter down -(0.44%) and the former up +4.07% (The $XBI is up +0.80%). Largest movers in $BBC: $WVE $GPCR $KYMR $NRIX $CGEM $ARWR $DYN
Wow - $BBC up 161% since April 8 low. ($XBI no slouch, up 74%). Are we overheated or are we going higher?
$ARWR $REPL $QURE $VRDN $TERN $CELC $CGEM $CGON $DCTH $VERA $ELVN $IMNM $RAPP $PCVX $RVMD
Stifel has published this slide noting $1.2TN of M&A ammo. Compare to $266BN combined mkt cap of $BBC companies. After $MRUS $RNA $MTSR $AKRO, Who's next? $ARVN $CELC $CNTA $COGT $GLUE $IRON $JANX $KYMR $MBX $NUVL $TERN. Who did we miss?
Jefferies put together this amazing chart that really shows how the recent jump in big pharma / biotech m&a activity should continue to reinject capital into the ecosystem. Also props to RTW and Avoro with >$1BN of gains, larger than several multi trillion dollar asset managers.
@financebully true but with $BBC up 127% since the april bottom, their losses probably pale in comparison to the 5x and 10x gainers in their portfolios. rising markets cure all.
Remarkably, since the April 8, 2025 low in biotech, $BBC is up a whopping 127% (!!!). $XBI is no slouch, +60%. And lower risk $BBP +46%. Notably, the recent biotech M&A binge has been focused on clinical stage companies (those in $BBC), versus being more heavily weighted to $BBP
also notable is how the advisory banking fees were spread around, which is great for the ecosystem. need to check: Metsera was baml, merus jefferies, akero ms, avadel jpm, avidity gs
A picture is worth a thousand words
$XBI above 9EMA and the more risk on $BBC above 9,21EMA and 20SMA
Vs $SPY $QQQ both rejected at 9EMA and below all moving averages
