JWM: European colonization once removed bison and fire from tallgrass prairie in the U.S. Midwest. Researchers recently looked at how reintroducing bison and conducting prescribed burns affected grassland species that use the prairies.

A new paper by Kiana Young describes a single wolf pack killing three individual wolverines in the span of 13 months in Alaska.

None of the wolverines were consumed, suggesting that food was not the primary motivation for the killings... (1/3)
