So excited to share this work from the Walker Lab, now online @NatureMicrobiol (https://t.co/XPtMfjzCeC), in which we uncover a general strategy for bacterial cell envelope polymer acylation using teichoic acid ᴅ-alanylation as a paradigm!

Unbound by formats or JIF - eLife is now completely upsetting the way science results are shared through short reports. No more story-crafting, no more eternal revisions. PhDs may actually start graduating with a published paper. Get ready to get scooped by reports on eLife.
Excited to announce the first paper from our lab identifying a family of anti-inflammatory compounds from vaginal lactobacilli #microbiome#WomensHealth https://t.co/pqTXY4TtsV (1/8)
The Bartlett Lab is open for business at the Wadsworth Center! We study pathogens with "unusual" shapes (balls & corkscrews) to find vulnerabilities in their growth plans, and learn how bacterial shape impacts infection. We are hiring... join us!

What about instead of making postdocs shorter we focus on making them better? More independent pay, benefits, etc? Similarly without more money it’ll mean fewer postdocs and an employer incentive to be efficient, but without an arbitrary axe at a time chosen by bureaucrats
I am ready to start protesting President Kamala Harris on January 20, 2025, but for the next few months, I’m coconut pilled x 1000. We have 100 days and change to stop an authoritarian right-wing demagogue hell bent on a pro-death agenda.
We are excited to finally publish the unprecedented biosynthetic origins of enediyne natural products: iodinated polyynes! This transformative discovery is a huge milestone for these clinical antitumor antibiotics. @Kalkreuter@guichun98@nchembio

We're very excited to share that our paper on the 21-dehydroxylation of steroids is online in @CellCellPress today! Read how flatulence drives bacterial production of allopregnanolone, an FDA-approved drug for postpartum depression.

Here's another troubling example of how bad Google AI Overviews can be. This overview on stem cells for knees is like an ad for unproven stem cell clinics & here again Google uses unproven clinics as its primary sources. Fact- there is no good evidence that stem cells help knees.
Very happy to share our new work out today in @ScienceMagazine ! Truly a fascinating study and very surprising results! Congrats to all involved @Jiankun_Lyu_@NKapolka@zenbrainest @BShoichet and many many others.

We were incredibly disappointed with the lack of code or executable accompanying the publication of AF3 in @Nature . This contradicts scientific principles of the ability to evaluate, use, and build upon existing work. https://t.co/8fOYWffXLv
