Just finished reading @jennysaint’s beautiful ‘Ariadne’ on holiday in Paphos. Took a little tour of one of the many archeological sites, to find this ancient mosaic of Theseus, the Minotaur and Ariadne! (Gave my husband the full run down on why I was tutting 😂) 📖💗🐂

I print/send them journal articles from JSTOR etc. on their Lit texts and then run after-school seminars. Perhaps have a non-fic for pleasure too 💗📚

@fwalker_f @hodsofenglish @Team_English1 @FunkyPedagogy @SaysMiss Class sets of highlighters, visualisers, post-its, exercise books that are slightly bigger than A4 (no more having to trim worksheets!), board pens (bullet and chisel), Berol fine liners (work really well under the visualisers!), biros for students, lined paper, board rubbers! 🤩

After FIVE years with the BEST class ever, I very reluctantly said goodbye today. It is a privilege to be part of their journey, but, as evidenced by my tears, so tough to let them go. I hope they know how incredibly proud I am of them! #LuckyTeacher #BestJob #GoGetEm11O 🎉🎉🎉

@english_evt @Team_English1 @AVisserFuray @AlwaysLearnWeb We’ve had some lovely Y10s/Y11s write a 5 part short story for the past two years, which members of the department had created an audiobook for. The students also produced illustrations, which were shown alongside the audiobook at the start of each lesson 🤩📚💗

It’s been a week of many steps (literally and figuratively), but with @RoydsLeadTeach Star Wars plasters for the blisters, classes full of enthusiastic students and supportive colleagues for the soul, it’s been a great first week of the new school year 💗🤩
