Sir,
You have always been advocating to increase the area under Tree cover in AP to 50 %. Therefore, it is need of the hour at this time of adverse weather events (Super El Nino) to increase the Forest/Tree cover in AP to 50 % in next 10-15 Years so as to address the issue.

Empirical research says One Ha (2.50 Acre) of Forest area & Tree Cover can absorb 3-5 Lakh litres of water per annum and releases ₹ 3-5 Crore worth Oxygen, provides food worth ₹ 1-2 Crore to humans, animals & Birds and sequester carbon worth ₹ 3-5 Crore in 10-15 yrs.

One of the sustainable, cost effective & long lasting mitigation measures to address the impact of El Nino is to bring more area under Forest & Tree cover in all the Vacant lands, Road sides ( 1.30 Lakh Kms in AP), Schools, Colleges, community, panchayat lands etc.,
