@joshwoodward Any plans to integrate personal and business accounts more seamlessly together into the Gemini App (and Android)? My personal email is tied to Android, Messages, Pixel Watch, etc., but I use Gemini Ultra for my business. If I switch to that Ultra account in the Gemini app, it throws off everything across Android.
@joshwoodward small @Gemini android app request: can you disable the feature that exits out of a Gemini conversation when tapping on a Pixel bud? When I tap on a pixel bud, I expect this to hang up a call, pause a song, etc., but when and only when in Gemini, this action backs out of a conversation I wasn't wanting to end. It might make sense as a feature for a verbal conversation but not a written one.
@Ike_Saul I was curious if you've ever explained why Tangle sometimes focuses an episode on a situation that hasn't fully developed. For example, covering cases that have been brought before the supreme court before they're ruled upon. It would seem better to cover these cases after rulings have been issued since the spectrum of possible outcomes and effects has narrowed considerably thereafter.
How can you expect "the media" to be serious when you can't even represent the facts correctly in a single tweet? Regardless of whether this research lab deserves funding or who should fund it, your claim that they say they have the cure for cancer and are withholding it is incredibly misleading. If you're going to criticize someone else, you need to be clearly more honest, sincere, and trustworthy than they are.
One extremely underrated narrative in the NYC mayoral race: Things in New York are actually going pretty well under Eric Adams!
Somehow, neither Adams nor Cuomo was able to seize on this simple fact. And Mamdani has been able to sell change.
Great writing from @GregBerman50
@JasonChatbox have you considered incorporating fact checkers into the @theallinpod? In episode 09.19, @chamath claimed 160K people watch @JimmyKimmelLive, but the Nielsen data shows 1.1M nightly. He and @DavidSacks also omitted comments made by the FCC chairman suggesting consequences for ABC if it did not take action. Also important to note that Nexstar needs FCC approval for a $6.2B acquisition of Tegna. None of this was mentioned as possible influences on their decisions. @TangleNews does a good job at admitting their mistakes. To maintain credibility, y’all should too.
Anyone found a good channel for keeping up with @rolandgarros match highlights? The tourney mobile app and YouTube account have maybe the most inconsistent, unreliable content coverage of a slam I’ve ever seen. #tennis#FrenchOpen2025
@friedberg does fantastic analysis and solution development for real world problems, and this might be one of his best ideas yet. If this doesn't solve the problem alone, my thought is to increase taxes on sugar and alcohol to increase annual tax revenue, drive down consumption, increase the health of the general population, and reduce the total cost of Medicare and Medicaid.
America's Biggest Mistake?
A portion of every American's paycheck is deposited into the Social Security trust fund (OASI), which is then invested to create returns that aim to support long-term retirement payments.
Since 1941, OASI has ONLY invested in US treasuries, averaging an annual return of just 4.8%. Meanwhile the S&P500 has been compounding returns at 10.5% per year.
If instead of buying treasuries, OASI bought the S&P500 index starting in 1971 (the year the US went off the gold standard), it would have a $15.1T balance today and Americans would all share ownership of ~1/3 of America's best companies, likely supporting increased retirement benefits, lowering taxes, and reducing Federal debt levels while being the world's largest sovereign wealth fund.
Instead, OASI has a $2.7T balance today and is projected to go bankrupt in 2032, as retirement benefits swell while annual returns on US treasuries held by OASI have shrunk to <3% per year recently.
Many economic inequities in America can be traced back to this structural mistake. By not investing OASI in equities, only privileged Americans with private pensions, 401(k)s, IRAs, and other investment retirement accounts have benefited from the marvel of American capitalism, leaving behind the tens of millions of Americans who had no choice but to rely on Social Security and were left reliant on low-yielding US treasuries.
It is not too late to change. Social Security can still pivot to an equity-driven investment model, driving future balance sheet growth, providing investment capital to American businesses, reducing the dependence on Federal taxes and money-printing, and giving all Americans ownership in America's best businesses.
Rather than create a new sovereign wealth fund, while ignoring the imminent failure of Social Security, legislators can restructure Social Security. By adding ~$500B directly to OASI, investing the entire balance in the S&P 500, and assuming future annual returns of ~10.5%, OASI will grow while also meeting all future retirement obligations, rather than shrink away into insolvency.
The longer we wait to fix Social Security, the more expensive it will become... shifting to an equity-driven investment model now could ensure its long-term viability, address economic inequities across the US, create the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, and give every American ownership and participation in the rewards of American capitalism.
@rjfoley What is the total amount of money spent for that 40% of canceled contracts, and how much money does the other 60% of contracts canceled amount to. That's what really matters.
@BradStanfieldMD Maybe consider splitting microvitamin into two or more daily doses. I don't have it all down, but I've read about certain vitamins competing with one another, some better on an empty stomach, some better with a meal or with fat, etc. Just an idea.
Hey @joerogan - per your conversation with Vance, Beyond Meat’s new IV formula is actually pretty clean: avocado oil instead of seed oils, 60% less saturated fat, 21g protein from peas/lentils, and no processed oils or fillers. American Heart Association certified it. Not all fake meat, or even processed food, is bad (ex. whey protein). Worth checking the actual ingredients before making further general statements that all fake meat is unhealthy. Even got better BBQ sizzle for the carnivores.
@MattBelloni regarding Tom Hanks' new movie: "The entire movie is shot from one point of view and one house... sounds like a snoozer!" Are you forgetting Dial M for Murder?
@elonmusk what your thoughts on this study on the political preferences of LLMs? Curious to learn what you're doing to address Grok's political leanings in the upcoming release. https://t.co/Krp2AhhsM5
