@crooks__@Drunk_Schefter@985TheSportsHub@ZoandBertrand CM plays D2 because they opted up to D2. They were originally placed in D4 in the first alignment of the current state format and D3 in the most recent. Next realignment comes up for 2027. This is not a defense of CM. Is what it is.
@CoachDalicandro@Andy_Villamarzo@On3Richie@AlecCr12@UConnOn3 Not defending CM but they opted up to D2 after having been placed in D4 and D3 in previous alignments. Re-alignment comes up again for 2027. We'll see what happens if CM is slotted for D3 again if there is a Super 8. Again, not a defense of CM. Is what it is.
@_TomDowney@newftbj Football realignment in 2027. It's possible CM could be slotted 4 D3 like the current realignment and choose to stay in D3 for that realignment period instead of opting up.
@DuganRyan8@newftbj Football realignment is up in 2027. What if CM is slotted for D3 (with the Super 8) and chooses to stay there for that realignment period? Do you take a page out of CT and add a Success In Tournament formula for schools of choice like the privates?
@DannyHolg AFAIK, he does that for a living. I don't. I based my opinion on info I got from the MIAA website and Arbiter. The same info anybody interested in this stuff can look up. And again, it's just my opinion. You're welcome to disagree. Happy Easter.
@AlexAgrellaRB Do you know for sure that Springfield Central would buy in to the Super 8 model? Do you have someone from the school on the record as saying yes?
@AlexAgrellaRB I did see the video and if you go through with the Private 8 bracket, you're just going to see the same 3 schools (X, SJP, CM) dominate year to year in that bracket, just like in the Catholic Conference. The other schools would have no chance.
@FarinellaMark@CoachKopcso Some coaches want an all-Catholic football bracket but the problem with that is you only have 18 of those schools in all of MIAA Football. Of the 18, 10 play in Divisions 5-8. And of the 10, only half made the playoffs in 2025.
@newftbj I don't know how you can justify an all-Catholic bracket when more than half of the Catholic privates in MIAA Football play at a Division 5 thru 8 level; and only half of those teams were playoff-bound in 2025.
