This is the 1st USA documented reinfection

@primarycarechat Love this slide - only beef I have is recommending Dymista by name, as it’s quite expensive vs. just RX’ing OTC or generic Fluticasone and RX Azelastine separately. Yes, 1 spray easier than 2 - but Dymista is $100+ bottle self-pay, $70+ bottle minimum w/ GoodRx coupon.
“The median age of death from #COVID19 for medical staff is 57, compared with 78 in the gen’l population. Around 1/3 of the deaths involved concerns over #GetMePPE.” Apologies for language, but where in the hell is @TJCommission, @acgme, & @OSHA_DOL?

As a skin-savvy PCP, you've decided your pt needs a topical steroid. How do you choose? What's your thought process when deciding one is better than the other? Does formulation (cream/ointment/lotion) matter? #PrimaryCareChat
Fun facts: the first EM PA residency was founded in 1979 at LAC+USC by Dr. Gail Anderson, the “Father of Emergency Medicine”. This was the same year as the first osteopathic EM residency (PCOM), and the same year that EM was first recognized as a specialty by @ABMSCert
given how immensely shitty 2020 has been, maybe this is a good time to bury our turf battles, support each other, and work together against coronavirus & racism. that’s the tweet.

To those who think herd immunity is the answer
Need 70-80% of population to get infected
> 230 million cases
1% death rate = 2,300,000 deaths
Doesn't take into account long-term morbidity
Oh, and we don't know if you can get it again making herd immunity impossible
