⚽️ I love expanding my coach network. Best way to learn/develop. Please feel free to message me! 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇮🇪Me encanta ampliar mi red de entrenadores, es la mejor forma de aprender y desarrollarme. ¡No dudes en escribirme un mensaje! 🇪🇸⚽️
@ProAcademyDrill@CoachMattLA Love this Tom. Verbal cues alone to scan create performative, detached habits. The head moves, but the brain doesn't register the landscape because there is no immediate tactical consequence. Awareness cannot be intellectualized, it must be demanded by the situation - the game!
@MyFootballCoach The data supports your claim that a high percentile of pre pro academy players preference their dominant foot with the number of balanced two footed players far too low. A major area of concern and focus all technical directors should work to address.
@MyFootballCoach I’m certainly not defending this. Developing a multi-directional player should be the only goal. My best guess would be the examples you’re referencing highlight coaches who struggle to balance long-term growth with immediate team needs/individual mechanics in the pre pro phase
@gmurphycoaching@HappySoccerGuy Yes Gavin! This guy scares me 😂 he openly criticizes coaching education but posts ancient linear checklists like this. I’m glad to see his how to kill player autonomy and intelligence program is up and running!
@HappySoccerGuy You assume technique exists in a vacuum. A player does not magically "master the ball" or "learn to pass" on an empty pitch, and then suddenly become capable of doing it in game. Also Placing "1v1 against an opponent" before "Basic Decision-Making" is a cognitive impossibility.
@JACoaching96@SundayShare10 Hi Jack, question: Because players only have 2 touches, they may struggle to receive the ball with their backs to goal, turn/switch. Are you intentionally provoking third-man combinations with this condition? I’d suggest altering the condition to be time based not touch based.
Great share here. This cuts to the absolute core of micro-tactics: exploiting the cover shadow by manipulating a pressing defender's approach angle. Finding the “hidden” player is entirely down to the mechanical timing of fixation and spatial un-marking. Drive and provoke!
Coach'sNote #84
How do you find the free player under pressure?
More and more teams look for the player hidden in the opponent's pressing shadow.
No matter how intense the press, there's always a free teammate behind the pressure.
Find him, and you can progress the attack.
@CareyZivkovich@JacobBrownDOC Traditional 4v1 keep-away is a great tool for a technical warmup, but adding direction unlocks its true potential for U9-U10s! Introducing end targets and transition goals teaches young players to naturally scan, break lines vertically, and instantly counter-press
@radek_bella UEFA tech reports noticed a shift: attacks are narrowing to counter hyper-compact defensive blocks. Squeezing player distances to dominate central overloads, forcing extreme 360° press resistance, rapid cognitive execution in suffocating spaces and manipulating line handovers.
We need to stop using the word "drill" when talking about football development. Drills imply mindless repetition. Modern, high-performance coaching is built on "activities". Dynamic, gamelike scenarios that challenge perceptual/cognitive skills. We build thinkers, not machines.
¡Bienvenido, Micho! 👋
RB Leipzig have appointed Martín Demichelis as their new head coach. The 45-year-old Argentinian has signed a contract with the Red Bulls until 30th June 2028 ✍️

Go get ‘em gents! 🇺🇸 🦅 🍻
Replacing a primary playmaker with Pepi is a major tactical question mark, however necessary it forces us to find a new way to win. Excited to see the group get after it.
Struktur und Restverteidigung der Nati überzeugen, doch Bosniens tiefer Block steht sehr kompakt. Tiefenläufe erzwingen Blockauflösung.
🇨🇭🇺🇸
Nati's structure and rest defense are convincing, but Bosnia's low block stands very compact. Runs in behind force block dislocation.
