One of the failures in this story is that a static SSN and date of birth were treated as proof of identity.

Foursquare was acquired last month. The outcome was disappointing. It's taken me a while to write this, but I think I'm finally done grieving it. Here are some thoughts on our final years, an effort to honor the team who helped build & maintain FSQ's legacy, and my attempt to finally get some closure. https://t.co/HgcgI9DWvy

Great opportunity to lead the Long Now, a long-term organization that prompts the question: "Are we being good ancestors?" ( Jonas Salk).

[Long Now Foundation @longnow]

The Long Now Foundation is searching for our next Executive Director. For nearly 30 years, Long Now has fostered long-term thinking in the framework of the next 10,000 years. As we look toward our next chapter, we're seeking a leader who can build on this strong foundation: deepening our programs, strengthening our financial future, and continuing to grow Long Now as a home for long-term thinkers and builders everywhere. The search is officially open. If this resonates, we encourage you to apply — or send it to someone who comes to mind.

@davidmarcus knows a thing or two about disparate financial systems. He used to spend his time building them at PayPal.

But now he's dedicated his life to connecting these disparate financial systems from around the world using stablecoins.

🎵 Robots playing cello. AI generating entire albums. Avatars as fans. Is this the future of music, or already our present?

In this electrifying talk, Joseph Perla takes us on a wild ride through the evolution of music in the age of AI, from autotune to AI DJs to holographic K-pop stars. And it all ends with a question: AI or HI (Human Intelligence)? What are you choosing?

Ignite is partnering with @TEDTalks , and we will be at the brand-new TEDNext event this October!

[Ignite Talks @ignitetalks]

We are excited to announce that we are partnering with @TEDTalks this October on a brand new event called TEDNext! The Ignite Talks session at TEDNext will bring the same punchy format that you’ve all come to know and love—5 minutes, 20 slides, 15 seconds a slide—but this event’s session’s theme—REVEAL—means that each talk speaker will aim to pull back the curtain on their topic and show the audience something they didn’t know before.

Join us at this vibrant three-day TED event in Atlanta, GA, and explore what’s next….We’ve always admired how TED works with its speakers. We look forward to bringing our unique spin on talks and creating something new together. We’ll be announcing the Ignite speakers over the coming weeks.
