This has gone on too long. Even in 2023 the economist and others thought @newyorktimes lost its way. https://t.co/YMPxzWV8Fd. It’s time to fire the board and @JosephKahn the integrity has lost its way. Shareholders should take action. It no longer reports without fear or favor
Was a fan of @davematthewsbnd for so many years (1994). I was excited that they were playing the amazing @foresthillstdm but I just found out that he gets political is his concerts now no one wants to go including me. Thanks for ruining decades of music for so many of us.
Is it me or has LinkedIn become a wasteland of posts from users written by ChatGPT? Every post has the same tone, the same voice and even the same format. Now obviously there are some who write their own but more and more are turning to AI to write them and it’s become vapid.
Looking forward to seeing the @AnthropicAI vs @OpenAI creativity battle during #SuperBowl - Will be interesting to see if either uses any AI to create them
I have been trying to rationalize the AI opportunities in B2B and this post and series of posts from @JayaGup10 lays out a very powerful thesis. Love the idea of valuing the labor market vs the software market.
We at @FoundationCap believe there is $4.6T of work to be automated. AI companies are leading a transition from Software-as-a-Service to Service-as-Software, turning the table on the very essence of SaaS.
We look at the areas to be automated in two buckets:
1.) Salaries of jobs globally ($2.3 trillion in sales & marketing, software engineering, security, and HR)
2.) The amount spent on outsourced services and salaries—both IT services and business process services ($2.3 trillion, per Gartner)
In the software business, a company may sell access to its platform or tool, but customers are still responsible for using that tool to achieve the desired outcome.
In the services business, responsibility for achieving the desired outcome sits with the company selling the service.
Chelsea FC is enormously saddened by the huge loss of life following last weekend’s attacks on Israel. We stand with the Jewish community in London and around the world in the face of the rising tide of antisemitism, which we have long campaigned against.
We will join with our fellow Premier League clubs in remembering all the innocent lives lost in Israel and Gaza in recent days at Stamford Bridge when we play Arsenal.
The regional banking system is at risk. SVB's depositors' bad weekend woke up uninsured depositors everywhere. The rapid rise in rates impaired assets and drained deposits. Zeroing out shareholders and bondholders massively increased the banks’ cost of capital. CRE losses loom. Meanwhile, higher-yield, more user- friendly alternatives beckon @Apple.
The @FDICgov failure to update and expand its insurance regime has hammered more nails in the coffin. FRB would not have failed if the FDIC temporarily guaranteed deposits while a new guarantee regime were created. Instead, we watch the dominoes fall at great systemic and economic cost.
Banking is a confidence game. At this rate, no regional bank can survive bad news or bad data as a stock price plunge inevitably follows, insured and uninsured deposits are withdrawn and 'pursuing strategic alternatives' means an FDIC shutdown over the coming weekend. And there is no incentive to bid until Sunday after the failure.
The GSIBs have an unfair competitive advantage as too big to fail means only their uninsured depositors can sleep soundly. Until the playing field is leveled, the regional banks are at grave risk.
Confidence in a financial institution is built over decades and destroyed in days. As each domino falls, the next weakest bank begins to wobble. Until investors are rewarded for betting on a wobbling bank, there will be no bid, and the best sale is the last price.
We are running out of time to fix this problem. How many more unnecessary bank failures do we need to watch before the FDIC, @USTreasury and our government wake up? We need a systemwide deposit guarantee regime now.

Shame on you @jetblue. You cancelled my flight over Christmas after 6+ hours. Today you canceled my flight in Bozeman after we were on board and now you aren’t helping anyone get home. Now shame on me for booking you again.
@JetBlue so you cancelled my flight at Bozeman because of a mechanical issue after we all boarded and you have done nothing to get us home. Your customer service chat is worthless. It’s crazy! Two trips in a row.
@JetBlue no weather, 2 planes, no service, no vouchers, no food, no water and now our entire trip is in limbo because no one is helping. That’s what happened last night. Got home at 3:30 am with a sad hungry frustrated family.
