@shaun_nestor Problem is with relief pitchers and inherited runners. Not really fair to the starter to get charged for an earned run because the reliever committed an error.
@AABaseballFan1 In other “@kscitymonarchs pitchers named Garcia now with the Reds organization” news, Julian Garcia is now up to 16.2 innings with the Reds since being called up from AAA earlier this year. He’s sporting a 2.70 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP.
@ScoringChanges@balkwhisperer I’m sorry but that’s a ridiculous rule. That would mean the pitcher could throw an immaculate inning in the 10th, win the game and still not get a perfect game.
@kscitymonarchs winning both games of the doubleheader while scoring all their runs in both games while being down to their last out kind of makes up for that rough loss on Monday.
@AABaseballFan1@IndyBallNation That’s definitely true. In addition, KC is a surprisingly bad road team this year. With 18 road games coming up in August, they need to figure that out or the race in the west might get interesting.
@GonGgos4@PitcherList It’s adding a rate per PA to a rate per AB. It shouldn’t work, but it does. OPS is the kid who doesn’t study or do any homework, but aces the tests and gets an A- for the class anyways.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

We already know what happens when you have different sunrise times. We've set up the experiment within each time zones and it's not pretty. Later sunrises (western portion of a particular time zone - red arrow) have higher disease rates than those in the eastern portion of the same time zones - green arrow).

People living where solar time is delayed relative to social clock time—particularly toward the western portions of time zones—have been found in several large studies to sleep less and to experience higher rates of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, certain cancers and suicide.
@CoachJSmith_@TheDataCage@USABaseball If you are already swinging 80+ your bat speed won’t increase as much and the lower mass will offset much of the small speed gain. If you’re in 9th grade swinging 60-65 then yeah moving to a drop 6 is going to help a lot.
@D_bro1389@ScoringChanges Back when aggressive take out slides at 2b were the norm, it made sense to put in the rules that the throw to 1b wasn’t ordinary effort and therefore couldn’t be an error. Baseball being as traditionalist as it is, I don’t know that the scoring rules will change now.
Everyone is acting like they legalized 1980s style single wall aluminum bats for high schoolers. But this is still .50 bbcor. I don’t think this is nearly as big of a deal as people are making it out to be.
Congratulations to Durbin Feltman on his contract being purchased by the St. Louis Cardinals!
We wish him the best of luck!

@Pyrellael@drivelinekyle -6 seems a bit light. But these are still BBCOR .50. It’s not like they’re going to be facing Albert Pujols with a 1980’s aluminum single wall. I don’t think it’s a big deal.
@SBizzos@BaseballDudes48 First and third situations are specifically called out in the rules as stolen bases. The defense has to truly be indifferent to the potential run, not just unable to throw the runner out without risking a worse outcome.
