@jonbecker_ Like man, I wouldn’t even have initially responded but you asked the question if there was a better trade. I didn’t realize you were being rhetorical.
@jonbecker_ That’s truly no point in doubling down here. It’s more respectable to admit you forgot this trade than to lean on a less than 5% outcome as a viable retort. Montgomery is the jewel of this trade. Burrows is so bad he might never pitch for HOU again.
@jonbecker_ Sure. But rn your opinion is that a pitcher from a trade who has 1.3 war is the best trade in an offseason where another created 7.4war, while the “4th OF” you don’t think much of has produced 1.4war. So maybe you do remember, but you’re not informed.
@brassdonkey2 Yes. Burrows, Melton, and Brito were all very highly regarded. I love Montgomery but Mangum is a fourth OF and Lowe is a free agent. A lot of time for things to even out, potentially
@jonbecker_ So your contention is that because there is a non-0 possibility that Burrows and two struggling minor league players could theoretically outproduce 7.8 war & whatever Montgomery and Mangum produce on top of that in a combined ten years of control, that you’re not currently wrong
[me] I'm pretty tense in my neck and shoulders
[what the masseuse was apparently thinking at that exact same moment] I'm gonna pull his underwear halfway down and elbow the shit outta the top of this dude's buttcrack for an hour
@Madl_Douglas @mrosati56 @Brad13____ Yeah no doubt. Fire BC, Shelton, Williams, Haines. Idgaf. But to be taken seriously online and irl, we should be accurate with our criticisms.
@Madl_Douglas@Brad13____ Putting them together with what though? All he has is the draft, some trade chips 5 years ago, and what? 15 million a year in free agency budget? Idc about BC, but this is disingenuous and historically incorrect.
