The implementation of computational models in #neuroscience should be #opensource and #freesoftware. Download, modify, extend or distribute the #python code of our computational model on motor recovery post-#stroke and learned non-use: https://t.co/Mmkol3Qafp #openscience
@leuthardt You claim that only your device can help patients beyond 6 months post-stroke. It is important in science to be up to date in literature: https://t.co/PQ8fVHkleG or https://t.co/AEO9HDcZeM (among others) Plus, it is a matter of principles and not devices: https://t.co/ciJsUNRBkT
New preprint: Sample Size Justification. https://t.co/bISEalHw5U It tries to help you to write an honest sample size justification for your next study. This means thinking about how to deal with resource limitations and uncertainty.
@RGS_rehab is launching a survey addressing the need for #effective#affordable#rehabilitation solutions after #stroke. Please click the link below. Thank you for participating!@EIT_Health_es

Lots of food for thought in the Q & A session re Controversies: Recovery and Brain Repair at #ESOWSO2020 . Emphasising again the need for attention to research design to push forward the science and clinical evidence base @ESOstroke@WorldStrokeEd@AVERTtrial
Disagree, fluoxetine works: mRS scale does not measure impairment but it measures disability and is unacceptably low-res. So, the 3 trials (FOCUS, AFFINITY, EFFECT) do not provide data to make any claims about the impact of fluoxetine on recovery from impairment (FLAME does)
Our last work shows that we can exploit sensorimotor contingencies to facilitate word retrieval and speech recovery in individuals with #aphasia. #clinicaltrial#stroke#rehabilitation
Happy to share our study confirming beneficial effects of multisensory cueing for naming in #Aphasia after #Stroke. In a #ClinicalTrial, using #VR, we showed that sounds of concepts eg. 'meowing' facilitate saying 'cat' https://t.co/IQMPnx3WEQ @SPECS_lab@IBECBarcelona@RGS_rehab
@jmourabarbosa @YardenJCohen Not my topic, but there is plenty of literature on social learning in animals, e.g. in foraging and hunting. According to a comment below, they may be luring worms.
