@Vancity Love the cute design but the update is a complete disaster for people managing more than one "relationship." The lumping of all accounts together is a terrible idea.
The action is to take action.
Writing is creating. Notes = step.
Taking one small step forward shifts something inside.
Why does progress mean taking a step?
Because motion changes your mind. Even one small action gives you proof. That proof builds belief.
Day 10
#NMMchallenge
How many eco-tourism ventures are the result of an ethical bargain? Caring people thinking: "There's going to be over-tourism here anyway, so it would be better if at least visitors were guided by "good" people who have *some* respect for the environment."
#NMMchallenge
Everything in modern society conspires against health and wellness. Happy and healthy people contribute little to the GDP: not enough mindless shopping and too few pills. Resisting the mind-numbing pressure consume requires reclaiming our spiritual freedom to act.
#NMMchallenge
Brain health depends on eating a diversity of vegetables, notably dark leafy greens, plus beans and berries. But cooking those things can be challenging when low on energy, dealing with brain fog, etc. Keeping it SUPER SIMPLE is FINE! Just make the simplest soup.
#NMMchallenge
Practically all of my habit coaching clients want to take too big of a bite to start. Starting from a "here and there" pattern, they want to start writing 4 hours per day. They resist committing to only 15 minutes per day. Why?
#NMMchallenge
We have internal stories in the different areas of life.
Stories on money.
On relationships.
On health.
It makes sense to review those stories regularly. Keeping the internal OS up to date. Because those stories are the frame for all actions we take.
Day 8
#NMMchallenge
Dementia isn't inevitable. 95% of cases are not genetic. It can be prevented, slowed, and possibly reversed in early stages of cognitive decline. Daily greens, beans, and berries make a huge difference in your risk!
Today's spread at Douglas Park Community Centre in #vancouver!
The scaffolding of our ways of perceiving the world and thinking about it help us make sense of it. Trying to understand reality from scratch every day would be impractical and exhausting! But sometimes the scaffolding makes us blind to new realities. How to tell?
#NMMchallenge
Why wait for a diagnosis? You know that vegetables are good for you. Fill half of your plate with a bed of dark leafy greens and pile the veggies on top. A simple habit that will radically improve your health in the long term (you might feel benefits within weeks). #NMMchallenge
The neural pathways we form today, through intentional practice or accidental encounters, create the scaffolding for how we live and experience the world tomorrow. Choose what enters your mind carefully.
#NMMchallenge day 5
Few can say they truly want to encounter life challenges. But, the truth is we learn so much about ourselves and gain so many skills when we do, if we're prepared to do so. Ease is joyful. But challenge is the forge of the soul.
Day 3 #NMMchallenge#PKM#LYT
For the vast majority of people, the bottleneck for muscle mass building and maintenance is NOT protein, it's resistance training. Most people do little or none. If that's you, stop counting your macros and start counting your reps.
#NMMchallenge day 4
Eating meditation and mindful eating can be understood as the same thing, though the motivations of their practitioners may differ. Maybe comparable to "veganism" (ethical commitment) versus "plant-based eating" (personal health). What do you think?
#NMMchallenge day 3
When faced with a health crisis - a moment of reckoning - adopting healthier habits (more plants, exercise, and sleep; less stress and substances) can happen overnight. But how durable will the changes be?
