@Exposittheword Primarily historic of Asia Minor churches. During history some aspects will fit situations of individual churches. Saying they are prophetic of church ages is forced: Laodicean lukewarmness may fit many western churches now but not persecuted faithful churches worldwide e.g Iran.
@quicklikesand Just before I open this fabulous snapshot, I was thinking if there’s so much beauty in a fallen world, what is the new Heaven and Earth going to be like?
@CherylSchatz Amen. Having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise- Eph 1:13. Believing/putting faith in Jesus precedes regeneration. The Lord first draws and convicts. Calvin hugely relied on Augustine who taught regeneration by infant baptism. Calvin persecuted Anabaptists.
@travismsnow Bought 3 of your books, so disappointed to see this strong recommendation. Stanhope claims “red in tooth and claw“ was “the very good of creation“. He denies a global flood, 6 days, etc. Jonathan Sarfati’s excellent Genesis 1-11 commentary is in contrast faithful to the text.
WARNING: This painting is devastating.
This is a painting of what a later term abortion looks like.
An abortionist will locate the baby’s heartbeat and then inject a long needle into the heart to cause cardiac arrest. The baby is delivered dead afterward.
Aborting babies isn’t “healthcare.” It’s murder.
@Exposittheword And one more David:The use of the word ‘ministry’ or the phrase ‘serving the Lord’ in a way that implies a false spiritual/secular split. For instance downgrading stay at home mothers or those in non-religious full-time occupations.
@Exposittheword It is good to be in the house of the Lord (of buildings).
Let us come into the presence of the Lord - as if this really only happens when a meeting starts.
Spirit-filled (David I hear this phrase from both charismatics & cessationists as if it is an automatic permanent state)
