Today began the CISM Summer School on Gravity Currents in the Environment in Udine, Italy. We have a diverse and engaged collection of students in person and online. Already a very stimulating week.
Besides his scientific contributions, Andreas founded his prestigious Acrivos Dissertation Award given every year at the @apsfluiddynamic meeting, and he was a long time editor of PoF (a journal now a shadow of its former self) … a legacy of contributions to the fluids community

The annual #WHOIGFD Summer Program has trained generations of researchers in fluid dynamics and magnetohydrodynamics. Opening 2 weeks of lectures are by Keith Julien and Basile Gallet, followed by 8 weeks of research supervised by one of many international visitors.
Applications for summer graduate fellowships in Geophysical Fluid Dynamics are being accepted until Feb. 5th. This year's topic is Multiscale GFD.
