When thereโs a heat wave in Maine, youโve got to stay on the coast. On Tuesday I photographed three (of the 65 ๐) lighthouses in Maine. Beautiful weather for going up and down the coast.
Huge advancement by NOAA GSL: HRRR-Cast: A.I. trained and data driven ensemble mesoscale forecasts.
Bottom line: extremely fast, accurate forecasts of severe weather for a fraction of cost on supercomputer.

After a cloudy start to the day the afternoon did not disappoint. This s-curve viewpoint has been on my photography bucket list for years, so it was incredible to see in person.
Yesterday, summit staff captured a timelapse of the development of lenticular clouds. Often appearing like a stack of pancakes or saucers, lenticulars typically form in stronger winds and downwind of a mountain range.
