It was a socioeconomic distinction though so a Hutu could become a Tutsi.

Ian is a fake friend to Bear. Ian and Sarah, although due to bad writing in my opinion, are also terrible friends to Nikki after the party scene.

Bear is a loser who might’ve had a chance.

Nikki is betrayed by everyone.

The true tragedy is Nikki but the story mostly focuses on “Nikki” being terrifying and Bear continuously making the wrong decisions.
