@StacheAutonomy@CathyYoung63 Well put. It's all obvious truths that people are too terrified to acknowledge, lest they accidentally think a forbidden thought
@devahaz@impostersyndrum .... He's talking about large numbers of people and their aggregate impact on election outcomes. Why would he not be using average as opposed to outliers?
@ewan_tindale@retrounixgeek@growing_daniel It works fine for that, but I've always used it as a ceremony to be done after I finish my work. I started using jj recently (as I've seen others recommend already) and it's night and day. I actually use jj to assist me locally instead of just a glorified Google drive for code
@SkylarTheWriter@theisaacmed Value over replacement player. Of course without a warehouse employee at all the business would go under. But was that specific warehouse employee irreplaceable?
@theiiimpact@vxunderground Meta's business model is not selling private data. It's allowing businesses to target customers with personalized ads on the Meta platforms
@l_ukas1_4@SarahLongwell25@davidsirota You have once again failed to answer my question. Someone has to have the most lethal military. Who do you want it to be, since we're so evil? China? Russia?
@ArcanesValor@ArtemisConsort A city government answers to its state government, who (somewhat) answers to the federal government. There are competing interests to ensure good outcomes for each jurisdiction's population
There is no global government to whom a country owes anything
@ArcanesValor@ArtemisConsort A city's borders are much less important than a country's. Obviously. American citizens have the right to travel freely throughout their own country and live where they please
Every human doesn't have the right to travel freely into any country and live where they'd like
@zeeg @skyfall_ggs I've created several web apps with AI and I'm now trying to create a usable TUI. It's 100x easier to make a GUI with AI. For the TUI I've run into bugs left and right that it doesn't seem even remotely sure how to handle with any kind of best practice
@martianwyrdlord It's at most an annoyance and inconvenience. Nobody ever pronounced or spelled my Irish last name correctly, plus it's ripe for kids to make fun of (she-he). I could never say with a straight face it "wasn't easy" growing up with it.
