COLLABORATIVE PROCUREMENT IN THE OFFING:
Once the new Government starts work, another major reform to be implemented will be in the area of public procurement.
All Ministries,Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as Local Governments (LGs) will implement the use of collaborative procurement for common user items such as stationery, computers, cars etc effective 1st July 2026.
This is part of the measures to cut wastage, guard against over pricing of goods and services in Gov't,standardise prices, achieve quality standards, value for money and maximize economies of scale.
This reform is also aimed at making public procurement efficient, transparent and corruption free.
According to the PSST Dr. @rggoobi, this reform will remove middlemen of procurement and also cut down on the lead time.
"If Government is buying similar things like cars and computers, there is no need for each entity to look for bidders," said the PSST.
Common user items will be purchased in bulk on behalf of all requesting MDAs & LGs.
Dear @nemaug, can you kindly first shift the focus from Lubigi to this wetland close to lake victoria somewhere in Nkumba which is now a dumping site?
This is not right at all. Something needs to be urgently. We need to collectively protect the environment.

The most striking feature of the new cabinet is Museveni’s continued empowerment of younger politicians and technocrats, many of whom now occupy influential ministerial positions 👉🏼 https://t.co/Xd9ptkUNlm
The security forces are sealing our entire border with the DRC until further notice. No movement of people between the two countries is permitted. This is in response to the Ebola outbreak in DRC. Trying to breach this order will endanger your life. We will update you on the situation as it develops.
As Chairman of PLU, I want to sincerely apologize to H.E. the President for the embarassing, uncharacteristic and wrong words one of our members, Andrew Mwenda, used against you. We are going to subject our member to a disciplinary process. The NRM/PLU alliance is strong.
I had the honour of meeting Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho alias Afande Salim Saleh, the Great General of the Resistance Movement; a truly noble and remarkable human being, very inspiring and generally encouraging. To me, Gen. Saleh is Uganda’s version of Cuba’s Raúl.
He is our latest buyer. He was very excited with the works in “Moments with Mzee” especially the famous story of the tree in Montipuez, Mozambique.
In fact, I was excited that he was more excited about the book than I was, which again made me extremely excited (simanyi oba munfuna?). Anyway, he bought the book straight away and said the life and journey of President @KagutaMuseveni deserve deeper attention and study.
Therefore, those who have not yet got a copy of this book, General agambye Kiyamba mwe!😆
