Chamath was given a simple choice, 100 shares of Anthropic, 100 shares of OpenAI, 100 shares of SpaceX, pick one stack (Save this).
He picked SpaceX without hesitation, and his reasoning is worth unpacking fully because it cuts to the heart of how the best investors think about technology bets.
His take on OpenAI and Anthropic was actually generous.
He acknowledged that Anthropic is the superior enterprise product, his own fund uses it as their foundational model and that ChatGPT has built one of the most powerful consumer brands in the history of technology.
But the case for SpaceX is built on something completely different, it is not one business, but rather a platform for multiple businesses that compound off each other.
Starlink generated $11.4 billion in revenue in 2025, growing roughly 50% year over year, and represented 61% of SpaceX's total $18.7 billion in revenue.
The EBITDA margin on the connectivity segment hit 63%, compared to 38–39% for the largest traditional telecom companies on earth.
Subscriber count went from 2.3 million in 2023 to over 10.3 million by Q1 2026, spanning more than 160 countries, and revenue is projected to reach $15.5 billion in 2026.
@chamath core insight is that the global communications infrastructure is profoundly broken and he is right.
Roughly 2.6 billion people globally still lack reliable internet access, and even in developed markets, rural connectivity is patchy, expensive, and controlled by legacy monopolies with no incentive to upgrade.
Starlink is a replacement cycle for an entire layer of global infrastructure that has barely changed in 30 years.
Every maritime vessel, every commercial aircraft, every military unit, every rural hospital, every developing-world government that wants connectivity now has one viable option that didn't exist five years ago.
The maritime and aviation segments alone carry ARPUs of $250 to $25,000 per month per customer, orders of magnitude above the consumer subscription.
But Chamath's most interesting point is what he called embedded optionality, the idea that SpaceX's business model doesn't stop at earth.
SpaceX now has the only fully reusable heavy lift rocket system in the world with Starship, and it is the only company currently capable of launching the next generation of Starlink V3 satellites that carry roughly 10 times more capacity than the current constellation.
Every new market SpaceX opens on earth, direct to cell with T-Mobile, enterprise contracts, government agreements becomes a template that can theoretically be replicated the moment humans establish a permanent presence elsewhere.
A Starlink equivalent for a lunar base, a Mars colony, or an orbital station is the same product with a different launch address.
Anthropic and OpenAI are betting on winning a model race where the finish line keeps moving while SpaceX is betting on owning the physical infrastructure layer of the next era of human civilization, on earth and eventually beyond it.
One of those bets has a floor and the other doesn't and that is why Chamath picked @elonmusk's SpaceX.
Milk Road remains bullish on SpaceX and the infrastructure layer it is building around Starlink, Starship, and global connectivity.

6 years ago, Elon predicted that drones would dominate the battlefield, and now we're seeing that come true
"I think things are definitely going to go into autonomous drone warfare... that's where the future will be.
It's not that I want the future to be this. It's just this is what the future will be.
The fighter jet era has passed."

THE CEO OF Y-COMBINATOR JUST SAID SOMETHING THAT SHOULD MAKE EVERY PROMPT ENGINEER UNCOMFORTABLE.
"When someone asks how I prompt my AI, the answer is: I don't. The skills are the prompts."
Garry Tan is not talking about better prompting.
He is talking about replacing prompting entirely.
Here is what he means and why it changes everything.
A prompt is something you write every time.
A Skill is something you write once and call forever.
The difference sounds small.
The compounding effect is enormous.
Every hour you spend rewriting the same complex prompt from scratch is an hour you could have spent building the Skill that eliminates that prompt permanently.
The builders operating at the highest level are not better at prompting.
They have stopped prompting entirely.
They have a library of Skills that handle every repeating workflow automatically.
Type one word. The Skill runs. The output appears. Same quality every time.
Here is the 7-day path Garry laid out:
Day 1: Read the Skillify 11-item checklist.
Day 2: Watch "Don't Build Agents. Build Skills Instead."
Day 3: Read "Designing, Refining, and Maintaining Agent Skills at Perplexity."
Day 4: Clone GBrain. 30 battle-tested Skills ready to deploy.
Day 5: Add GStack. 23 slash-command Skills drop right in.
Day 6: Do one workflow. Type /skillify. Watch it become permanent.
Day 7: Everything you do more than once is now a Skill.
Prompting is the manual labor of the AI era.
Skills are the automation layer.
The people who make this shift in the next 30 days will not be prompting in 2027.
They will be operating.

Suicidal Empathy is spreading fast in the United States. I urge all American patriots to get involved in fighting for American freedoms and liberties. Please don't be apathetic. The loss of our civilization will not happen overnight but it will happen if good people do not stand up against the massive attempts to colonize and destroy the West (and the United States). Please wake up.
We exist to help the @DeptofWar and allied militaries deter conflict, and if necessary, fight and win it.
"I've been to war. I never want to see my kids have to go to war. I thought there was a better way to help deter conflict: autonomous systems and the proliferation of drones."

From a slab in the desert to the home of Tesla Powertrain — every drive unit, every powerwall, every pack.
Next chapter: @tesla_semi and LFP cell production!
To the production associates running the lines shift after shift, the technicians who keep them running, the engineers who find the next second of cycle time, and the leaders who clear the path — congrats. You built the template for how Tesla scales.
The new education stack:
1. Find a problem you care about.
2. Learn only the things that helps you fix it.
3. Use AI to accelerate the work responsibly and diligently.
4. Build something REAL.
5. Let reality grade you.

back in the 70s, game theory was hyped the exact same way AI is today. every genius was obsessed with one thing: how to win.
then one guy watched his kids play with legos and realized everybody was completely missing the point.
in short: if you're constantly trying to "beat the competition," you're playing the wrong game entirely.
hands down one of the clearest explanations of strategic game theory applied to real life by @simonsinek
I mapped out the key rules and action points below.
Sunday Robotics CEO @tonyzzhao believes home robots only need to master a handful of chores before they become indispensable.
"What is the minimum number of tasks that a robot needs to do to justify its own existence so that people love having it in their homes? I actually think the list is pretty short. The tasks are pretty repetitive. You just need to learn it and just keep doing that over and over again, like folding shirts or loading dishwashers."
