@chris06642329 I think that many news outlets are leading people to believe that protecting others from dying is a socialist idea, and the government is controlling us, but we follow laws every single day enforced by our government, not sure how a mask is different. #AuburnWorldHistory
I find it interesting that the word liberal stemmed from the idea of the government helping people with their natural liberties/freedoms because we are still fighting for those. #AuburnWorldHistory
#AuburnWorldHistory before this article, I had only seen the word "neoliberalism" and not really paid any attention to what it actually meant. I'm glad this article gave some insightful information that helps define it a bit better.
@kennedyleedrake#AuburnWorldHistory I really didn't know anything about neoliberalism before this article but it did help me gain a basic understanding of it and how we see it playing out in the world right now.
I agree, with what Mr. Said said, that we as Americans package people from other countries in the world. We want to have this one view of the Islamic people. In reality, it is the complete opposite. There is many different Islamic people and cultures. #AuburnWorldHistory
It really blows my mind how women were not looked at as equal to men. Without women, the world would fall apart. First of all childbirth, and then mothers truly do have the hardest job, raising children to be respectable adults. Women make the world turn. #AuburnWorldHistory
#AuburnWorldHistory After listening to the call with the Polynesian woman, it's apparent how many people are ready to argue about something they are not educated on.
#AuburnWorldHistory I feel like this same way of thinking still exists today even if slavery does not exist in the same way it used to. People are still being taken advantage of for their work/help with the economy yet do not get recognition or get mistreated.
#AuburnWorldHistory seeing the stats of the economy dropping drastically after the abolition of slavery is insane. I don't think they realized how much they relied on enslaved people to produce for their economy... yet they were treated so terribly.
#AuburnWorldHistory It is interesting to read the history behind the revolt of the enslaved people in Saint-Dominigue... I think it shows the power you can have in numbers when teaming up together. I'm glad it led to the abolition of slavery here.
@NickCarpino7@ardenyoung19 As a thank you, check out https://t.co/ip4YmogpTW and read about how awful living conditions can be on Native American reservations. They struggle to function because of things like clean water/housing/not having adequate school systems. I'm sure they'd take that over potatoes.
