Today we celebrate a milestone — together with @FIGOHQ and @world_midwives, we launched the new @WHO Consolidated Guidelines on Postpartum Haemorrhage.
These guidelines mark a major step forward: Earlier diagnosis. Faster action. More lives saved: https://t.co/04WvpAmaZP
While these pages are down, please note that @WHO has Medical Eligibility for Contraception materials available, including in an app.
Please spread the word.

The CDC medical eligibility criteria website has been removed. This could lead to unnecessary risk for people who prescribe and take contraception. And no one would be able to explain why this is happening.
Mums and children have the right to quality health services at every stage of life.
That’s why the health of mothers in particular will be at the centre of our work and the theme of #WorldHealthDay 2025.
Great to see the @WHOBulletin discussing the #SRHR of older adults.

Escalating violence in the north of #Gaza has blocked humanitarian missions from reaching people with food and medical supplies. Meanwhile, health care continues to be attacked.
We ask Israel to give @WHO and our partners access to the north so we can reach those who desperately need aid.
Under international humanitarian law, all actors have a duty to ensure health care is protected, and not attacked.
It’s estimated that universal high-quality midwifery care in all countries could save up to 4.3 million lives annually by 2035.
To make this a reality, @WHO launched the Global Position Paper outlining how countries can transition to sustainable midwifery models of care, where midwives are the main providers for women and newborns from before pregnancy through to the postnatal period: https://t.co/Y1MhmUKHvD

DYK: less than 5% of clinical trials included pregnant women.
New @WHO guidance includes practical considerations for setting up trials to include pregnant and lactating women, given they have unique healthcare needs. #Maternalhealth
