People don’t realize how safe and effective acetaminophen is for pain and fever. By scaring people away from Tylenol, fevers will either go untreated (dangerous, especially for young children and fetuses) or NSAIDs will take its place, which carry much more significant side effects, like stomach ulcers or kidney injury. It’s not hyperbole to say the president yelling at people not to take this medication will lead to deaths.
They want us sick & stupid. That’s why they attack healthcare, science, and access to education. A healthy, informed society doesn’t easily bend the knee to dictators. They will continue to go to school & send their children. They will get vaccines, abortions, etc. Just not you.
It's been exactly 20 years since my first day of internship
As I reflect on my disproportionate aging since then (gray hairs >>> wisdom), here are my 10 unsolicited recommendations for any colleague embarking on residency
THE "ATTENDING ADVICE YOU DIDN'T ASK FOR" THREAD ...
Why is it never Hamas, Hezbollah, or the Islamic Republic in Iran's fault?
Why aren’t Sinwar, Nasrallah, and Khamenei ever held responsible for the state of the Middle East?

She was DA of a Top 10 city, AG of the 2nd largest justice department in the land, a U.S. Senator from the largest state, and the sitting VPOTUS.
Last time you elected a president he was a game show host and Twitter troll so STFU.
@simplyserotonin ask the charge nurse for expired sutures so you can practice hand ties. And try to download surgical recall to your phone and right before a case, go over that section in the book. DM me if you need a pdf copy.
This was one of my favs for ties:

4 shifts into residency and it’s pretty amusing to me how one day I feel like I’ve started getting the groove and the next I feel completely incompetent and have no clue what I’m doing.
Here’s to the roller coaster that is residency, I’m so happy to be here. 🤗
The financial strain during transition to residency is absolutely painful. Idk how we’re supposed to do fourth yr things, have increased COL not accounted for in loans, prep for residency, and survive until our first residency paycheck (partial) comes 😭

Paying to park at home is dumb. Paying to park at work is dumb. Paying to park on public streets is dumb. Paying to park at events you bought tickets for is dumb. Paying to park at hospitals is dumb. The ONLY time we should have to pay is valet or private garages.
Been receiving messages from med students who didn’t pass Step 1, & just want to say this:
A test result is an assessment at a single moment in time. It doesn’t define you and doesn’t get to derail you. You are much more than a test or career. Remember this.
